Oshoala Foundation Unveils Plans For 2021 Football4girls Invitational Tourney

The 2021 edition of the football4girls competition bankrolled by the Asisat Oshoala Foundation promises to be the biggest and entertaining.

The three-day tournament is scheduled to take place between December 1st- December 3rd at the newly refurbished Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

16 teams from eight different secondary schools will participate in the competition, while eight academies from Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Oyo and Enugu will also be in attendance.

Some of the academies that will attend the competition are; Ossy Angels, Nakamora Queens, Victory Queens and Oracle Queens.

The secondary schools include; Isale Eko Grammar School, Lafiaji High School, Dolphin High School, Queens College among others.

Scouts from Europe will also be on ground to pick the Most Valuable Player. The MVP will have the opportunity to steady abroad.

“The 2021 edition of football4girls event, which will be the sixth edition will hold at the new Onikan Stadium on Lagos Island. It will feature 16 teams in Nigeria. They will battle for cash prizes, “Completesports.com gathered

“This year’s event will also feature mentorship session for the girls, including a medical health day for the girl-child, while there will also be an all-star game, where top Nigerian celebrities will face off with Super Eagles all-stars (including some ex-internationals.”

Highlights of this year’s event include sensitization on the danger faced by a girl child through puberty, adolescence to adulthood. Distribution of sanitary pads and toiletries.

“Education is key so as sports and combining both together will help develop a girl child. The plan is that this year’s edition won’t be limited only to sports and education alone. A medical day has been set aside by Emzor Pharmaceuticals to help the girls work on their hygiene and we will share 1,000 face masks and sanitary pads to the girls.”

The winner of the competition will go home with N1m.

Partners for the competition include; Emzor , UBA Foundation ,The Nigeria Football Federation Lagos Sports Commission and Nxtion Family UK London.
