Super Falcons and Barcelona striker Asisat Oshoala has been voted the greatest Nigerian female player of all time, Completesports.com reports.
Oshoala was announced as the greatest female player to emerge from Nigeria after the conclusion of a poll published on CAF’s women’s verified Twitter handle.
She beat off competition from legendary Nigerian female stars Mercy Akide, Perpetual Nkwocha and Cynthia Uwak.

After the conclusion of the polls, Oshoala got 53 per cent, Nkwocha was second with 31 per cent, Akide with 14 per cent and Uwak with just one per cent.
Oshoala was part of the Barcelona side that clinched a first ever UEFA Women’s Champions League title.
She came on in the second half in the 4-0 win against Chelsea in Gothenburg, Sweden.
She had earlier helped her Spanish club win the country’s women’s topflight.

In my opinion, Perpetua Nkwocha was more skillful, and was an all round better player. But Oshoala is not too far behind. Besides, she has won more trophies, and with the recent UCL trophy, I think she is the most successful female footballer to emerge from Nigeria, and Africa.

Perpetual is the greatest africa female footballer of all time, oshoala is good but her best for the country is yet to come.. she haven’t even reach half of perpetual national team goals. Abi na Barcelona be Africa?

Asisat has won more laurels, awards than perpetual nkwocha but perpetual is more talented and skillful. Either way I hope asisat leaves Barcelona for another club. I don’t see why they are keeping her on the bench. She is better than any player they have in that team in my own opinion
Oshoala is so good, people say OH LA LA when she performs. So her nickname now is OSHO-LALA.
However, respect must be given where it is due. When it comes to football, Perpetua is still her BIG AUNTIE. But if we’re talking about laurels, then Oshoala is it.
