Raffaele Campo, a top Italian journalist has backed Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen to go ahead and score his first Serie A goal against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday.
According to Campo who spoke to Complete Sports reporter, Oluyemi Ogunseyin in an exclusive interview, all the way from Italy, Osimhen has great qualities to score goals for Napoli.
Osimhen joined Napoli earlier this summer from Lille for a fee of 70 million euros and has started justifying the huge amount by scoring six goals in three pre-season games.
The pacy attacker was also included in the Serie A Team of The Week following his inspiring performance which helped Napoli to secure victory on his Serie A debut for the club.
He was only on for 30 minutes in his first competitive game for the Partenopei a fortnight ago when they defeated Parma 2-0 in their opening Serie A game of the 2020/21 season.
Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens netted once each as Napoli were inspired by new signing, Osimhen’s entrance in the second half, precisely in the 60th minute against Parma.

Osimhen also contributed an assist last weekend when Napoli annihilated Genoa 6-0 at the San Paulo Stadium but ahead of the Partenopei’s clash with Juve this weekend, Campo spoke to Complete Sports.
Victor Osimhen will be playing against Juventus on Sunday. What are you expecting from him?
It will be a very difficult game but Juventus isn’t the same as three years ago. If Napoli doesn’t commit mistakes, the team could also win, particularly with a quality striker like Victor Osimhen.
And for Osimhen again, it is very clear that the Juve clash will be his first imprtant match as a Napoli player, but the game will be very open. For Napoli supporters, it is a massive game.
I don’t know if Osimhen will start the match or he will come in as a substitute but judging by his performances so far, he will shine once he is on the pitch.
Osimhen has played two Serie A matches but he is yet to score. Do you see him scoring in a difficult game against Juventus?
Against very tough defenders like Leonardo Bonucci and Girogio Chiellini, it is actually such a difficult thing for every striker to score goals but every match has it’s own history.
So it isn’t impossible for Osimhen to score his first Serie A goal ever for Napoli in their clash with Juventus.
How will you assess Osimhen’s performance so far at Napoli?
Very good. He hasn’t scored yet [in Serie A] but his support play has been very huge. Remember that he came on in the first game against Parma and completely changed the pattern of Napoli’s attacking play.
And in their second match when they thrashed Genoa 6-0, he was in the starting line-up and despite him not scoring, he contributed to the big win after contributing an assist.
Osimhen has been compared to the likes of Edinson Cavani. Do you truly think he will shine like Cavani?
In general, I don’t like comparing players and this is because I think that every striker has his own qualities. Napoli have always had good strikers such as Fabio Quagliarela, Cavani and Gonzalo Higuain.
To me, though, Osimhen is a much different striker to all those I have mentioned as he has got very good pace and he also has his own different qualities.
Osimhen can score lots of goals with the help and support of the likes of fellow attacking players such as Lorenzo Insigne, Dries Mertens and Hirving Lozano.
