Victor Osimhen scored and provided an assist while Ademola Lookman was also on target as Napoli beat Atalanta 2-1 in the Serie A on Saturday.
Osimhen has now scored eight goals in nine Serie A games this season.
And he has become the top Nigerian goalscorer in Serie A with 32 goals in 60 games.
On his part, Lookman’s tally in the Italian elite division this campaign is six.
Also, Lookman has netted five goals in Atalanta’s last six league games.
Napoli, on 35 points, stretch their lead over second placed Atalanta to eight points after 13 fixtures played so far in the season.
Atalanta had the first chance on three minutes when Lookman rolled across from the left for Rasmus Hojlund, forcing a one-on-one save from Alex Meret.
Lookman then gave Atalanta the lead on 19 minutes from the penalty spot after Osimhen handled the ball inside the box.
However, Osimhen quickly made up for his mistake by drawing Napoli level on 23 minutes, as he was allowed a free header on a Piotr Zielinski floated cross from a short corner.
Napoli turned it around completely as they went 2-1 up on 35 minutes after Osimhen broke away from Merih Demiral down the right and pulled it back for Eljif Elmas to score from 10 yards.

My dear RM, my honorable presido Perez, the don coach Carlo, Mr Juni Calafat the great scout, you guys should pls table $100m for Napoli for this osimhen before it’s too late, boy is on fire and will score goal aplenty for the merengues for sure.
Osimhen tops serie a with 8 goals, while Lookman is 3rd for 6 goals. All these African players better stay away from the premier league if they want to thrive in their footballing careers. I hope others soon follow
Lookman barely scored for Fulham based on Scott Parker. When he got sacked by bournemouth they started to do better. Lookman went to Leicester, did a little bit better but mostly came of the bench. Now he is leading the atalanta team.
Osimhen now has 8 goals. He will soon beat his serie a career high of 12 goals, last season. He should reach 12 goals by the end of the year and then reach at least 20 by the end of the season.
These guys have to win something. Osimhen, champions league, serie a, coppa italia and or supper coppa italia. Same with Lookman, minus the chapions league, but aim for top 4 spot.

Osimhen will always make the difference…. .he had a hand in the three goals today…… But the second goal of Napoli stands out for me the most……. Osimhen showed determination and strength to shrug off the strongest defender in the seriaA in Demirel and laid an assist for elmas to score……. Napoli need to give osimhen more of such impossible tasks to Carry out by playing the ball into space always……. Even if osimhen stands no chance of getting to the ball just play it into space and be sure he will fight for the ball like he did in the second Napoli goal today……Napoli should not miss this golden opportunity to win the scuddeto this season.
