Osimhen Recovers From Coronavirus

Napoli have announced that Victor Osimhen has recovered from coronavirus and will return to Italy in the coming hours.

The club confirmed Osimhen’s recovery on their Twitter handle on Sunday.

Osimhen tested positive for COVID-19 at the end of December, so could not return to Naples to undergo medical examination on his cheekbone injury which he had been ruled out for at least three months.

However, he was supposed to play in the Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles of Nigeria wearing a protective mask but was eventually not included in the team because of the virus.

The Partenopei have now announced that the 23-year-old has recovered and is on his way to Naples.

“Victor is negative for COVID and will return to Italy in the coming hours,” the Partenopei wrote on Twitter.

The player will undergo medical examinations upon his return to Italy and could be available for Napoli’s upcoming Serie A games.

Napoli face Sampdoria today (Sunday) and their next two matches are against Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia on Thursday and Bologna on Monday January 17 in Serie A.

  • Well done Napoli. I won’t be surprise if Osimhen start playing for Napoli this week. Same player that Napoli said that can’t play at afcon.

    God dey.

    God bless Nigeria.

It would have been wrong for them to field him so the coronavirus probably helped their plan and then Osimhen opting out too due to probable pressure from the higher ranks of Napoli. They will use the fact that he was suppose to come for an assessment of his injury……. and we have incompetent hands in the NFF who won’t pursue it..

Edo parable says, “no one will ever know the exact amount if you use your mouth to split the meat, weather the one inside your mouth is bigger than the one you brought out”. Yes, we will never know what actually happened in this Osimhen sage. Let’s pray that he can be available in the World Cup playoff coming soon to play for his fatherland once again.

Rubbish! Maintain the same energy you used to insult Dennis. Don’t change the narrative simple because he’s from your state of origin
