Osimhen Returns To Napoli From Super Eagles Duty

Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen has returned to Napoli for further treatment on his shoulder injury, reports Completesports.com.

The 21-year-old was forced out of the Super Eagles 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash against Sierra Leone on Friday after dislocating his shoulder.

Osimhen, who was replaced by Paul Onuachu, was later rushed to the hospital in an ambulance.

He travelled to Italy on Sunday morning and is not available for the reverse fixture against the Leone Stars at the Siaka Stevens Stadium, Freetown on Tuesday.

Club Brugge forward Emmanuel Dennis has also been ruled out of the game as result of a knee injury.

Osimhen scored Nigeria’s second goal in the 4-4 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

He has now scored four goals and recorded one assist in three appearances in the qualifiers.

I am optimistic this injury won’t keep him out for more than 2-4 weeks top.. Get well soon bro.. The main reason I watch SSC Napoli week in week out nowadays ..

If rohr is sensible, he should not start onachu for no reason..
And he(onachu) should never be called on again..

@Walking… you guys should take it easy on Onuachu… he was only handed 12minutes coming into the fray in the second half. Should he score a hattrick with that period after it was clear Sierra leonians seized the game in the second half?

@JimmyBall, good observation. God bless you more. Oga Rohr fans have forgotten that you can’t give what you don’t have period.

They are making unnecessary excuses but why?

Let’s face the truth here men.

I’m tired of this. We have to call a spade a spade this time around. Mr. Gernot Rohr can’t take this team to the promised land period.

He doesn’t deserve another chance after many chances given to him. Aba, enough is enough. 12 minutes wasn’t enough kę and he did that to many of our players. If truly NFF doesn’t take bribe from Mr. GR then, he deserved to be fired after Tuesday match.

NFF should get Amunike, Aguavon, Egbo, Peter Rufai, Ike Shorunmu,
        Enyeama and Ikeme on board.

Do screen NFF for them and choose the best candidates for Super Eagles and treat them like foriegn managers and we go from there. That is just it. I won’t say more than that. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

When Rohr gave Onuachu 65 wasted minutes vs Algeria, it was the same you and your progressive regressive thats complained 65 mins was too much, that he should have been removed before then…now you still rant that bringing him on for Osimhen after Osimhen got injured was too short. A player that always comes on and our entire attack will just collapse. Go and watch the matches he has played since after his debut, our attack is always useless whenever he is there, either as a starter or as a sub. Osimhen is not has tall as him but osimhen won almost all the aerial balls that came his way vs S/L. One of those aerial battles resulted in his knockdown for Chukwueze for the 4th goal. You and you cohorts think SE is Genk or belgian league where Onuachu does his wait and get…?? Dessers didnt play more than 20 mins vs Tunisia and we saw that the difference is clear. Only osimhen has 4 goals and 3 assists in 3 matches so far….your wait and get striker cannot even get a knockdown or do common hold up play.
Go and sack Rohr is NFF does not sack him na…! Christmas has come for you early this year, your prayer has been answered. When the SE were winning and blowing the S/L away in the 1st half of the game you were having heart attack o.

CSN always get your fact right. He actually scored 4 goals with 3 assists. A goal in the first qualification match, 2 assists and 2 goals in the previous match we won 4 – 2, plus 1 assist and a goal in the last match.
