Victor Osimhen was on the score sheet again for Galatasaray who lost 2-1 to Villarreal in their final pre-season game on Saturday.
Osimhen was also on target last Sunday, getting one of Galatasaray’s goals in their 3-3 draw with French Ligue 1 club Rennes.
It was not the best of pre-season campaign for Galatasaray who managed just one win out of five fixtures – losing three and drawing.
Ayoze Perez gave Villarreal the lead from the penalty spot in the third minute but Osimhen levelled for Galatasaray two minutes later.
Villarreal took the lead again as Georges Mikautadze restored the visitors’ advantage with four minutes left in the first half to seal the result.

Galatasaray now shift focus to their competitive season opener, where they will face newly promoted side Corum FK in the first round of the Turkish Super League next week Friday.
Osimhen helped Galatasaray win the Turkish Super Lig last season, netting 15 goals, providing five assists in 22 matches.
It was his second league title after clinching it in his first season in 2024/2025, while on loan from Napoli.
