Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe says new signing William Osula has all the qualities to be an exciting player for them.
The 21-year-old Danish-born Nigerian striker joined the Magpies for a reported fee of £15m, having scored three goals in 31 senior appearances for Sheffield United.
The striker, who has five caps for Denmark U21s, made 21 Premier League appearances for Sheffield last season as the Blades were relegated to the Championship.
Commenting on Osula Howe said: “William is a talented young forward with all the attributes to be an exciting player for Newcastle United.
“We have watched his development closely and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with him in this next step in his career.
“I know our supporters will join me in giving William a very warm welcome to the club and the city.”
Osula described Newcastle as a great club, and said he is very happy for the opportunity to join them.
“It’s a great opportunity, and as soon as I heard about Newcastle’s interest, I knew I had to take the chance to join this club if it came.”
Osula is Newcastle’s sixth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Miodrag Pivas, Odysseas Vlachodimos, John Ruddy, Lloyd Kelly and Lewis Hall.
