Osula gathered the loose ball, cut inside from the right channel and produced a sensational curling effort from the edge of the box that left goalkeeper Senne Lammens rooted to the spot.
Osula’s strike against United also won Premier League March 2026’s Goal of the Month award.
The 22-year-old became the first Newcastle player to win the award in the just concluded season, and the first since Alexander Isak in December 2024.
He is the sixth Newcastle player to win the award since its inception in the 2016/17 season, with Miguel Almiron the only multiple winner.
Osula ended the Premier League season with seven goals in 24 appearances for the Magpies.
Aston Villa Interested
He is wanted by newly crowned Europa League champions Aston Villa as he impresses at Newcastle United ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider.
He has been forced to bide his time for regular minutes under Eddie Howe, but emerged as his first choice centre-forward as the season drew to a close.
He repaid Howe’s faith, with five goals in his last six outings for Newcastle as several Premier League clubs keep tabs on his potential availability.
Aston Villa are one of those sides, as revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, but the Magpies are reluctant to let him leave this summer.
Newcastle’s transfer dealings could see numerous big-name players leave St James’ Park, hence why they are determined to keep hold of Osula and his lofty potential.
