Captain Sarfraz Ahmed has no concerns over his Pakistan side being considered as underdogs ahead of the World Cup. Hosts England are widely considered the pre-tournament favourites, with India and Australia also heavily fancied ahead of next month’s showpiece event.

Sarfraz is happy for his side to be overlooked, and feels they can play without pressure at the World Cup as there is little expectation on Pakistan. “Look, when we go as favourites, then it’s a problem, but if we go as underdogs then other teams feel the danger, so I think being underdogs is good for us and eases the pressure,” Sarfraz told reporters in Lahore before Pakistan head to England and Wales on Tuesday.
Pakistan are due to play three warm-up matches and then a five-match ODI series and a Twenty20 against England before the World Cup gets underway.
