Former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze has urged the Super Falcons to beat South Africa’s Banyana Banyana by wide scoreline in the first leg of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers.

The Falcons will host the reigning African champions in the first leg inside the MKO Abiola Stadium on Friday 5 April.

While the second leg will hold at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Tuesday 9 April.

The winner over two legs will qualify for the football event of the Olympic games.

“It is important the Super Falcons record a big margin in the first leg because the second leg will be tough,” Udeze said on Brila FM.

“They should win by 3-0, 4-0 here then in the second leg they can maybe go for a draw.”

Falcons last appearance at the Olympic was at the 2008 Beijing games.

They have failed to qualify for three consecutive games: London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020.

The last time the Falcons faced South Africa was in the group stage of the 2022 which the latter won 2-1.

  • I pray Super Falcon win and qualify.

If not all the blame must go to NFF

I don’t know the kind of funny brian NFF carry and make them put this kind of match in Abuja stadium where the stadium will surely be empty.
Match like this Should be played at Uyo or Port harcourt.
We will all see the way stadium will be filled up in the return let at South Africa.

I concur with you bro. I don’t think abuja stadium is the proper place to play a match of this calibre. Abuja stadium hardly fulls to the brim and we need to win this match with a huge score line to make the second leg a mere formality.
