Victor Perez claimed his maiden European Tour title as he secured a one-shot victory in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The Frenchman missed his 12-foot birdie putt at the last but a par to complete a final round of 70 was enough to see him pick up the trophy at St Andrews.

Matthew Southgate finished on -21 in second place and fellow Englishman Paul Waring finished one shot further back in a tie for third with Sweden’s Joakim Lagergren. Tommy Fleetwood and Tom Lewis both hit eight-under rounds of 64 on Sunday to finish on -19 in a tie for fifth alongside Matthew Jordan, Jordan Smith and Wang Jeung-hun.
