    Congratulations fisayo dele bashiru

    Great squad

    All the best super eagles

  • Greenturf 7 months ago

Peseiro is doing a fantastic job.Foreign coaches are the best for Nigeria because they make decisions based on merit.
The players listed above are the best we have at the moment.

  • Footballfanatic 7 months ago

Why is Orban out?……I sense the end of Eking in the national team is close..

    • Emmanuel Akpan 7 months ago

Gift orban isn’t in form at the moment
Who would rather drop from the list and fix in gift orban.
All the players mention above are all in form

    • Greenturf 7 months ago

He hasn’t scored in many games, even at that i would pick Moffi ahead of Orban.
The best strikers we have today are Boniface,Osimhen,Awoniyi,Iheanacho and Moffi.

    • Ignatius Abo 7 months ago

Senior man @Footy Fanatic, Orban no too sabi a beg. The guy is bang average.

    • Ignatius Abo 7 months ago

Thumbs up brotherman @Footyman, Ekong is history. He is too slow, also a liability.

  • Ololo 7 months ago

I feel sad for ekong.. we are finally retiring the oyibo wall of the previous coach.. it will be so difficult for ekong to reclaim his shirt from the stubborn ajayi and bassey.. ajayi is a starter for his championship club while ekong struggled to get game time in a very difficult championship league..

Another notable absentee is akpoguma,,it seems pesiro isn’t too satisfied with his performances in the previous games and he is struggling for fitness in his club side.. .

I thought I read that bassey, ajayi and aino are currently injured but they making the squad list shows the injury might not be that serious..

Ebuehi is another player I feel very sorry for,, how is he going to hustle the right back position from the skillful aino and Samuel?

Jamili Collins is finally back to the team and is playing week in week out for his club in the English championship, sanusi will have to double his effort when he returns from his injury if he wants to reclaim his shirt..

I’m loving the competition in the team.. slow down and get butted out, even an orban who stopped scoring just for few weeks as lost his shirt for a moffi.. and the basiru guy will give a aribo a run for his money,, if he does well in the friendlies and aribo continues his usual struggle.. aribo should kiss goodbye to the team and should forget the forthcoming Afcon if this new guy goes well..

Finally this is a good team and this matches will bring out the best in the team

    • Chima E Samuels 7 months ago

Everything you said makes a lot of sense but Sanusi has left back to himself, only a sick coach will see Collins as competition to Sanusi… for now let’s watch the defensive rebuild.

      • Ololo 7 months ago

I strongly disagree.. Collins was there before sanusi and had some run of good games.. sanusi is a decent left back no doubt but he is not irreplaceable.. even the onyemachi guy doesn’t look like he came to joke, he was rumoured to be wanted by Porto and that tells alot about his abilities..

I remember the Afcon we almost got to the final with Algeria scoring a Last minute free kick.. we seem to have forgotten that it was a Collins who was the first choice left back in that tournament and gave a good account of himself.. one thing I Love about Collins is his defensive disclipine, sanusi is better going forward but isn’t so strong with defensive duties so they are all useful with their different contribution.. go and look at clips of onyemachi Bruno and it won’t take you long to see he has some brilliant crosses with mostly results into goals.. it would be lovely to see who gets selected for the upcoming Afcon between these three good players.. it is a close call if we are honest.. Collins is getting serious game time in his club Cardiff and they look good to return to the EPL.. don’t joke with him bro!

        • Chima E Samuels 7 months ago

Collins that Mahrez ran mad LMAO. Can he try it with Sanusi???

      • Chima E Samuels 7 months ago

Collins is not a SE first eleven material and he can’t even make the bench of Porto that is why it will be strange to say Sanusi will be fighting for Jersey with him. I even rate Bruno ahead of him. Bruno of Boavista can fight for shirt with Sanusi due to his technique but Collins SMH he’s moving from one lower division in Germany to another lower division in England due to his lack of technique. Man has to improve miraculously to be considered for First Eleven in a serious team.

  • Emecco 7 months ago

According to KAA Gent coach, Orban is suffering from the psychological problems due to his failure to secure a transfer away from the. Belgian League during last transfer window. What a wrong time to lose form for the young man. It’s virtually over for him and the next Afcon.

    • Nice list if I may say…..Now genuine competition is returning to the super eagles team….. Everyone is uncertain of his position including Osimhen who has the talented Boniface and Awoniyi breathing down his neck……There is competition in all the positions and that will bring out the best in the team……Akpoguma is a very strong central defender who is at his prime and playing in one of the strongest leagues in the world but his problem is motivation……. Akpoguma’s heart is not 100% fixed on SE yet and it’s making him look bad in SE colours……. watching Akpoguma in the Bundeliga is different from the Akpoguma in SE.The coach needs to work on his mentality so that there can be more competition in the central defense……Also I think Micheal Folorusho of Verona in SerieA should be integrated into the midfield Because he brings a lot of energy with him…….Caleb okoli,Tosin Adarabioyo, should be integrated into the defense……Then Noah Atubolu is our number one goal keeper……Atubolu is an elite goal keeper……Good reflex, good height, good kick, good agility what have you……he made an impossible save against Augsburg in the Bundeliga this weekend and I was like wooow we need to do anything possible to bring this guy home to keep goal for His father land.

      • Chima E Samuels 7 months ago

Rosin and Caleb are good additions to the defense but they’re both not ready to rep Naija. The list is good for the first time we are experiencing a genuine selection void of DW or NFF influence.

      • Ololo 7 months ago

My brother that Atubolu is an amazing goalkeeper but I think we should allow him decide if he wants to play for Nigeria.. from what I see I doubt we can get him this year.. Germany just had a new coach and he and others are hoping for the new coach to look their way.. so it would be impossible to get him at this point especially at his age where he feels he has all the time in the world to wait for the German team..

We must Make do with what we have.. sadly Uzoho is sitting on the bench every week but who do we have to replace him? Maduka is also sitting on the bench like uzoho and I think he should he called back to the team because he is not different from Uzoho.. our defenders just have to be at their best because we currently have a goalkeeper crisis and if we are honest, we don’t any option better than the above two.. if you mention okonkwo of arsenal, is he ready to play for Nigeria? No. If you mention the Austria guy, he doesn’t want to lose his citizenship to play for us.. so we must accept our condition like we see it

      • Papafem 7 months ago

Bro, I would really love one or two of the players you mentioned to show up in our colours, but they won’t come. The team is taking shape but I want more competition in the midfield. Fisayo’s addition is good. That Folorinsho reminds me of the vibrancy Onazi added to Keshi’s team 2013. If we can fix that midfield, especially the attacking end of it, we will be unbeatable and scary because the attack is loaded already very talented players. A good midfield will also give our defence the needed confidence.

    • Ololo 7 months ago

It is not over for any player at this point.. they have more games next month for the world cup qualifiers and I expect some more players to get an invite.. orban still has a chance.. if he begins to score like he did in previous times it would be difficult to ignore him for the next matches..

We have excess strikers and it is survival of the fittest.. if you misfire another is waiting to take your spot.. anything can still happen before the Afcon next year.. who thought that a Boniface would be a sure name for mention in squad list.. moffi who I thought wasn’t on the good book of the coach is now back to the team.. even an akor is knocking , same with an onuachu.. it is such an interesting time for the super eagles. Anything can happen.. imagine an ekong and Musa no longer making squad list.

      • Chima E Samuels 7 months ago

Onuachu is not knocking anywhere let him retire in turkey and goto Saudi like his friend Anthony Nwakaema. Onuachu flopped like flip flop after all the EPL transfer noise and aside his goal against Egypt what else has he achieved with SE. Abeg Ololo no dey add sand for stew because you seem to always mix up average players after mentioning solid names.

        • Please the coach should try had even in the Nigeria premier league in looking inwards about the issue of goal keeping, a team without a good goal keeping zone can’t go far in competition ,except by luck

        • Ololo 7 months ago

If onuachu continues to score week in week out as he is currently doing ,I won’t be surprised if he makes the team list for the next games or the Afcon..

Why write him off.. he has super eagles experience which can be very important in crucial games.. he is different from the current strikers that we currently have. He is one of the tallest strikers in the world and can bring something unique especially when he comes in late in the game..

You cannot write him off. If an aribo who is still struggling for the same Southampton team that he played for still gets invite, then onuachu can still make it.. moffi was axed previously from the team but now he is back after some scintillating performances for club, the same can happen for onuachu If he works hard and brings back his A game that made him the hottest property in Belgium few months ago.. if an orban, Jordan etc can be called from the Belgian league, an onuachu who had conquered Belgium in the past still has the quality to play for the super eagles.. besides this isn’t rohn who hates the Turkish league.. Samuel and the new basiru are all coming from the Same Turkish league like onuachu and it shows pesiro follows and loves the league..

Anything can happen for any player.. let them just continue to bang in those goals. No one is excluded from getting invitation

  • And Complete Sports had to use Flying Eagles photo as the story image. Nice list. Not only does it seem Paseiro is slowly force-retiring Ahmed Musa and William Troost-Ekong, he also appears to have placed Awaziem, Ebuehi, Dessers, and Onuachu on the fringe list. Sanusi I think is out injured.

But tbh, you can hardly complain about the list, very merit-based. This is like 95% of the squad for the January Afcon. The team is taking shape.

  • Goal ⚽ 7 months ago

the gaffer really deserves commendation for this list, the squad is capable of winning the next afcon cup.just the goal keeping areas really need some attention though not that extremely bad as we may think.
the coach should use this friendly match and try new formation, at least with six mildfielders we can try three man midfield. the list still show a 442 formation . only three wingers invited.

is it now officiall to invite 25 players instead of 23?

    • Greenturf 7 months ago

@Goal Kelechi Iheanacho is the 4th winger, apparently the gaffer invited 4 wingers,Nacho and Chukwueze on the right,on the left wing you have Simon and Lookman.

      • Goal ⚽ 7 months ago

I’m aware but he is not a natural winger as per say. I feel he performs well in that position in a 442 formation the last time though.
but can he play as a winger in a plain 433 formation?

      • Goal ⚽ 7 months ago

Greenturf, I’m aware but he is not a natural winger though he performed well in that 442 formation the last time. it was actually one of his best performance on green and white jersey.

but can he play as a winger in a flat 433 ?

  • Great list. Good one pessero. When a coach keeps telling the whole world that he wants to win afcon right from day one then he is expected to use his head to pick players.

I would love Jordan to pair semi in the center of defense or come in the second half to replace omeruo. Bassey cannot function well in our central defense. He should go to the left full back.

  • Coache 7 months ago

Omeruo has no business in that team INHO

  • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 7 months ago

This type of selection choices and the obvious process involved in making the selections is a thing of beauty to behold – everything seems to be getting back to a sane way of working and let’s just hope that
    1) It actually is…and
    2) It remains like this – where the manager is left alone and he in turn continues to select based on footballing merit as he sees fit

    No more tribalistic quota system
    No more egunje “backdoor access”
No more interference from so call “stakeholders” or anybody but the actual guys who are paid to do the job.

This has a lot of merits, least of which will be that at least now we will be able to see the success or lack of it of any incumbent manager and coaching crew

A per-excellence Super Eagles or Nigeria on display and in full flow just like in the days of old – And what a sight that is to behold!

Finally – No doubt that we (SE) will rise back to the top echelons of African and World football recognition again – just as in the days of old, when the likes of JJ, Papilo, Pastor West, Babangida, The Bull, Yekini – (The GOAT!) Finidi, Lawal, guys like Martins, Oliseh, Babayaro, our range of Great goalies…etc etc (sorry if I’ve left anyone out, the list is endless!) Esp all the greats who have passed on most notably the late great Stephen Keshi ! (RIP)…. and like I said, so many more…Enyeama, The Yak, Mikel, Yobo, Odemwings, Ikpeba, Aghahowa, Ambrose, Chair person Siasia..I could go on for days.

In conclusion – A great move, let’s hope we stay with this new determination to try and do the little things we have control over the right way and regain our place in world football.

And as the icing on the cake – Who’s with me when I say the impending wotowotorisation of that foolish Ghanain Darks Stars from now on eh?…Who Wid ME?!” Teehehehe!

Apart from the obvious “confusion break bone” of CSN –
CSN continue to fall hands all over the place – See as they decided to put up a picture of the Flying Eagles on an article about the Super Eagles?

CSN – how far na brothers??

  • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 7 months ago

CSN no send anybody at all at all o chaii! lool!

Is Nathan Tella not yet cleared to play for Nigeria? I think we need him in the team instead of Aribo or Dele Bashiru.

  • Ayphillydegreat 7 months ago

Wow! Everyone is now praising a foreign coach?? Lmao!! The coach they all criticized when he was hired?? Lmao! Ọmọ Araye!

Well I’ve always liked a foreign coach for our senior national team both the SuperEagles and the SuperFalcons. I said it here that he has brought competition into the SuperEagles.

Anybody that feels indispensable should just kiss his SuperEagles spot goodbye. I like the introduction of Fisayo Dele Bashiru. I hope he can bring something different to the midfield that’s been lacking creativity for some time.

I’m only looking forward to a good AFCON outing and if we can win it that will be a huge boost for our players going into WorldCup qualifiers. At least a Semi Final or podium finish is ok by given the last disaster class in Cameroon.

I applaud the federation for preparing the team with this friendlies in order to the give the gaffer a chance to see which players can fit into his squad for both the upcoming WorldCup qualifiers and the AFCON in January. Great job so far coach.

  • Collins Id 7 months ago

This is wonderful, pesero is ready, we need sybastian osigwe he is playing week in and out in swizerland top division and he is of age, he may just be the recanated carl ikeme, i think his agants should reach out to pesero, the left back is for sanusi and bruno no doupt, Collins will have to chill, onless any of them gets injured, but i see bruno taking over afcon, aina and osayi will keep the right sport, aina is just a Gold. Omeruo experience is needed and please nobody should mention akpoguma here again, this is not acadamia, ekong or even balogun will do better than akpoguma, the guy should just chill. please stop critisizing young bassey, he is a beast and a future world class diffender, i personaly rate him above rudigar, he is the only premier league central diffender we have after yobo, we should start encouraging him, awaziem deserve to be in this team at this moment that guy is our current best difender, he has turned puyol, far better than tomori and caleb. I think we dont need raphael onyedika, awaziem should replace him.
I cant wait to see us fly in cotedvoir

    • Ekere 7 months ago

Is onyedika a defender or a midfielder. Awaziem for me deserve a place in the team. I think at the moment he is better for me than ajayi

    • Ololo 7 months ago

Sabestine osigwe is not playing week in week out.. where did you get that statistics from? We currently have a goalkeeping crisis and I don’t blame the coach for trusting Uzoho.. what other options do we have?

    • Golden Child 7 months ago

Thank Goodness you are not the coach!

  • Sanusi is Injured and will only return to fitness before few days before camp. Orban is not in form has not scored in a while and is suffering poor loss of form due to disappointment of not getting his move to prem. Adam’s Akor deserves a look in soon but fair list based on form. The coach is doing a good job I would have like to see Ebuehi in the team he is a steady performer in Seria A. But hey no big deal there the Coach is showing that he is still selecting based on merit.

  • Ekere 7 months ago

Looking at the midfielders,if there’s any defensive midfielder i will so commend ndidi and raphael onyedika he is ever present for club Brugge both in the league and Europa

  • Aina is also injured. He will be there if fit. Doing very well at Forest

  • pompei 7 months ago

Welcome aboard, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. Perhaps there is a good reason Tella is being excluded.
As for Orban, I can only wish him a speedy recovery from whatever physical or mental issues he’s having.

  • Omo9ja 7 months ago

Good list, but without reliable goalies, is it like Oga Paseiro hasn’t learned from the past mistakes?

Why relying on Uzoho for so long? Uzoho has failed Super Eagles, likewise Okoye.

Now, why can’t the gaffer start afresh with new goalies?

We have them, and I don’t know why CSN haven’t done their research on Super Eagles golies.

What did Nwabali have done to NFF and the gaffer himself?

Nwabali is far better than Uzoho and Okoye. The only goalkeeper that can compete with Nwabali at the moment is Adeleye.

This is not the CSN I used to know back then. They would do the needful things to help Super Eagles by calling the attention of the Nigeria Football Federation and the coach in charge of the Super Eagles to strengthen the loopholes in the team.

Are they not aware of Nwabali? Why did Olorunleke Ojo make the list? Because NFF wanted home based players, right?

For Oga Paseiro, building the team around Uzoho is like going to a war without having the amunitions it’s required to fight the battle.

Aside from that, Dessers are needed in this team. But I can understand why he wasn’t on the list because he just joined Rangers.

Oga Paseiro should not make the same mistake Eguavoen made when he released his final Afcon list in the last election.

Osimhen and Victor Boniface are more reliable with the additions of Dessers and Nwabali, and then we are one hundred percent ready. But with the way it stands, Oga Paseiro is not ready yet.

If Nwakali is playing regularly at his club, we need a playmaker like him in the Super Eagles. Omeruo and Musa have no room in this current team.

I hope CSN will do us a favor by letting the gaffer do his research on Dessers, Nwabali, and Nwakali for the sake of the Afcon trophy he dreamed of winning. The coach is trying, which everyone can see now. He just needs a few players to join the team. I wish him the best. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

  • JimmyBall 7 months ago

There is a question on my mind… I welcomed Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to the Super Eagles but to be honest… Can we say he has truly done enough to merit a call-up to the Super Eagles on the back of just a single goal for his Turkish club? Does this dude Fisayo actually have anything new in his kit bag that we have not yet seen? I am just trying to be honest and objective…

    • Sunny 7 months ago

JimmyBall, your penchant for lack of research and hasty conclusion is showing again. Fisayo has scored 4 goals in 7 league games already this season. Google is free, use it.

    • Mercy 7 months ago

Fisayo Basiru has four goals and an assist in this current season. Some of his key attributes is that he is good at giving long range pass and a good ball carrier.

    • Golden Child 7 months ago

@JimmyBall, 4 goals + 1 assist in 7 matches as an attacking midfielder is insane numbers. I do not know much about him as there isn’t enough footage on him but the numbers suggest there is talent there. You just never know!

  • Collins Id 7 months ago

@jimmy, fisayo have alot to offer in the eagles, infact sometimes i dont know what you and omonaija want, you did not complain aribo a div two benjamin, you nor see onyedika that is not needed becos he is too similar to ndidi and onyeka, only this fisayo have a different package in him, he has the power and skills, he has scored more than one goal iń turkey, and he is AM which we obviously lack, you have been forcing akpom on us to play number 10, even the guy is crying for a rescue to take him away from the midfield to attacking position, jimmy stop smoking those purple ais from the netherland. Omonaija stop disturbing us with dessers, let his football speeks for him, do you know how many chances he has got through pesero, are you introducing dessers to pesero by now??? Omonaija even if you dont smoke, stop hanging around agbero you can still get high, dessers is not among top naija strikers for now, infact imade osarenkhoe will give him tough time in any team. Like i said this is the afcon team you are seeing, we just need osigwe and awaziem to discharge few others. If awo and moffi fails to truly impress, the likes of akor and orban can brake in, tella is good to replace aribo in the middle, but as for the wings, he is not better than our current wingers, and no reasonable coach will call a player for wings he is fully covered.

    • @Collins Id Onyedika is a star in the making and he is needed he is box to box and a stable first team player for Club.. Onyeka is a very good player…

My only problem instead of inviting Moses Simon we should have use this opportunity to try and Cap Nathan Tella.

      • Ololo 7 months ago

Did you say they should invite tella for Simon.. we are very funny in this group.. Simon who is one of the best players in France and a Star in his team in Nantes is the player you want the coach to drop for tells who is still finding his feet in his club..

Tella is a good player no doubt and one for the future but you must remember he plays in the same team as Boniface and while Boniface is playing every week and scoring or assisting tella is yet to force his way in the starting Eleven and has no goals contribution yet.. we need to give tella some more time to develop in Germany and I feel in few months he would replace some older players in our team.. Simon for now is one of our best players and the current captain of the team in the absence of musa and ekong

        • Golden Child 7 months ago

I couldn’t have put it better. Tella is an amazing prospect but he needs to play week in week out and back it with numbers. If you are going to beat the man that beats the man, it must be earned.

If I am to be honest, I am not a fan of Moses Simon. His performances for the SE has been quite inconsistent but he has earned the right to be in the team for now.

  • TKeezOK 7 months ago

Left for me, I did rather drop a Chukwueze than Simon. Both as wingers be it inverted or not can’t put in a decent cross but Moses brings in more without the ball on their feet. Nathan is still growing and needs enough game time in his new club, loves the fact he uses both feet well.

    • Ololo 7 months ago

If you say Simon doesn’t know how to cross the ball then you don’t know Simon enough.. go and watch his games for his club Nantes or his you tube clips.. many goals scored this season in his Nantes club has resulted from a Simon cross of the ball.. while a chukwueze prefers to dribble his way and shooting at goal Simon dribbles and tries to cross to find a player in a better position..

We must times underate Simon because he hardly praises himself and not so Much presence on social media.. this must be why in a crucial game for the world cup qualifiers against Ghana in Abuja our local Coach kept a Simon on the bench and played a Dennis ahead of him and we saw how we missed out on qualification..

Simon is our best winger at the moment, he is well ahead of lookman and chukwueze and I expect him to give us a repeat of what he did in the last Afcon come January especially now he is going to wear the captain arm ban

      • Collins Id 7 months ago

@ololo, you are very very correct, simon has improved alot, that guy is gradualy becoming Nigeria king of assist, the guy have masterd the art of finidi, always doing the right thing at the right time, i was his biggest critist in this forum, walahi’ that guy have won my heart back, i am so confident with him in that left wing for now, he is the most consistent winger among all of them, very hardworking player, rohr contributed to his previous below performance in his early years, i hope he lift 2023 afcon Gold

  • I Think the coach accepted a pay-cut recently…obviously, this is an outcome of that decision…i will accept pay-cut, and you will allow me to choose my players…no interference from anyone…let me just do my job this time..ordinarily and in the characteristics of the NFF, some old legs would have been invited for the match…

  • Larry 7 months ago

    Great selection from Pesseiro !
The midfield still needs a box-box MF (Alhassan or Tom Dele Bashiru). Onye or Collin will drop forSanusi.Tella needs playing time and performance before being considered.
The SE attack is one of the best in the World. It can only get better.
The GK dept is the weakest link, Uzoho is the only inactive player in this team. Why inviting a GK who has found it difficult to play a single match in a below top 30 league at the expense of those playing consistently, Osigwe and Tobias are better options.
Inviting Uzoho and ignoring Okoye who is having similar experience speaks volume to the level of unfairness in the GK department. Pesseiro should find time to discuss with Atubolu and Ejeheri for future invitation.
It took the exemplary display of heroics from Martinez for Messi and Argentina to win the Wcup. Enyeama played his part in our last AFCON win.The transition from Rufai Ike tEnyeama and Carl has to be better than current option.
The SE should be for only active players.

    • Ololo 7 months ago

I will not blame the coach for inviting an inactive Uzoho.. osigwe you mentioned has also not be playing for his swiss club, he doesn’t even get squad list for league games ( I think he probably has an injury) while Tobias is not willing to play for Nigeria considering the fact that it would cost him his citizenship.. so who do we really have to man the goal post? Very few options!

Okonkwo and Atubolu are the best options for now but they don’t seem ready to Play for Nigeria.. the coach has some important job convincing either of them to play for Nigeria and I doubt he has such time considering how close the Afcon tournament is.. he just has so motivate Uzoho because we really do not have any other option for Now.. after the Afcon, the coach ( if he still retains his job) should travel to Europe and talk some sense to those boys , they have a brighter future playing for Nigeria than for england or Germany respectively

    • @Larry what other Box to Box do you want the best two Box to Box Midfielder’s available to Nigeria anywhere in the world any League in the World are in this selection Wilfred Ndidi and Raphael Onyedikachi.

  • @Omo9ja this your love for Desser’s who will he come to SE and take out is it Victor Osimhen or Victor Boniface who has just recieved the player of the Month rookie of the Month (a feet only achieved by Haaland in Bundesliga) in German League that is far tougher than Scottish League?. Dessers has 1 goal in Six games in the SPL. thats not a good return if I may add. Is it Awoniyi we have all seen what he is doing Moffi we all see what he did to Mbappe’s PSG even Orban who did not make it is miles better than Desser’s when Umar regains fitness another player playing in Spain and Champions League. look how many players are ahead of Desser’s in the Pecking order.

I do not remember CSN ever being a good Protagonist to getting top players in SE ever so please spare us that bro. All I ever remember CSN doing was pushing the Ahmed Musa Shehu agenda down our throats and also giving Voice to Ex Internationals who wanted to ruin our ball with their NPFL players in Super Eagles Agenda.

Yes, I too don’t think Dessers is fit to be anywhere near the team, he is just not on the level needed
Nathan Tella needs a call up – not necessarily to replace anyone but just to be in the team and be available to come on, let’s see if he can displace anyone but I agree, he just needs to be along for now and if he can get on and do something – good – we know he has good pedigree
I have said many times and I will continue saying, Moses Simon is one of our very best players in the SE whether some can see it or not, I thank God that oga Paseiro can see that
I also agree that those criticizing Calvin Bassey don’t know what they’re talking about he is a very good player and MUST be in the team – however to correct some on here who are calling him a center back, no sir, Calvin Bassey is not a center back but a left back sir
Right now we need Osayi Samuel and Aina is different gravy
Ajayi is our best center back back right now and Omeruo can only be on the bench and it’s only for his experience – he’s not coming to be a starter but someone to shore up defence with experience in the dying minutes of games if we’re holding out
Paseiro needs to keep a close eye on Chukwueze, any signs that he’s not pulling his weight and he’s back on bench – same thing applies for Lookman.
Uzoho is the last man – a common basket “Apere” and should never be in the squad – let alone our number 1 – it is completely unbelievable that anyone in their right mind would want to put such a basket in goal for the SE – We need another goalie – Any other goalkeeper please. I no fit shout o!

Tella is more technical than Sammy, I see another victor Moses in that boy. But sentiments won’t let them call him. Is not coming to bench anyone, invite him let him come and prove himself.

Excellent list, Peseiro really deserves commendation and tribute for this list, there a notice in this list that he depends on merit and good form for summoned players to Super Eagles, he does not depend on sentiment or tribal choosing, so I think Peseiro is going on the right road now without any NFF interference or any influence by anybody, this policy by Peseiro will lead SE to win or to gain the next AFCON. Cup or at least to semi-final , also will lead them to the next World Cup 2026 in USA & Canada & Mexico; in choosing players Peseiro must increase defensive midfielders from three players to four players, he must summon thoes players as follows: Ndidi,Anderson Esiti,Onyeka,Azubiuke Okechukwu; Iwobi,Fasiyo Bashiru, Folorusho as attacking midfielders ,so midfielders in SE are seven players than to summon six players; in goalkeepers function, Pesieto must summon new goalkeeper who has quality, agility, I think Aniagbosso could be summoned to SE with Uzoho , Adeleye; Peseiro must play with strict and rigorous and strong defensive style of playing in order to protect SE defence , cause SE defence has been lacking this trait for along time, which has cost SE to loose many AFCON. final in 88,90,2000, also has banished and kept them away from 2006 and 2022 World Cup final in Korea & Japan and Qatar on consecutiveness.
