Lucas Piazon says he has had enough of being loaned out by Chelsea and his time with the club is over. The Brazilian was tipped for greatness when Chelsea snapped him up back in 2011 but the move has not gone according to plan, and he has yet to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
Piazon has been shipped out on loan to seven different clubs, a clear sign that he will not make the grade in SW6, yet he still remains on the books after failing to sort a permanent move.
That could be about to change at the end of this season, because at the age of 25, Piazon has clearly had enough and wants out.
Piazon joined Portuguese side Rio Ave in the latest transfer window, and in a surprise move signed a new contract extension with Chelsea before leaving.
That contract will take him through to 2021 and Chelsea will expect him to return to the club at the end of his latest loan spell in Portugal.
However, it looks as though the player has different ideas and has given up hope of making it with Chelsea. “My time at Chelsea is over,” Piazon told A Bola. “I’d have a good season on loan, but I’d come back and was soon loaned again.
There was no point in going out on loan, playing well, coming back, not being used and being loaned again. “There comes a time in your career that makes no sense anymore. By the way, I said exactly that three years ago and it didn’t go so well at Chelsea, it generated some discomfort.”
If ever there was a time for Piazon to play a part for Chelsea it was this season after the transfer ban prevented them from bringing in new players. But clearly Frank Lampard does not fancy him either and a permanent move away would be best for all parties.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
