Pochettino Calls For Unity

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has urged his squad to pull together after a difficult summer for some individuals at the club. Spurs finally delved into the transfer market over the summer after opting not to sign players for the previous two windows, with the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso joining.

But the north London side also saw some departures as Kieran Trippier agreed a switch to Atletico Madrid, while Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose were heavily linked with moves.

Eriksen’s future at Spurs was widely speculated on following reported interest from Real Madrid although the Spanish giants decided against making an official bid.

Pochettino is keen to put a turbulent summer firmly in the past and has stressed the importance of pulling together as they look to improve on a slow start to the season. “It is so important to re-focus. This is the squad that we are going to have until January, when the rumours will appear again,” Pochettino said.

“The most important now is the collective. We must put aside the individual situations and be all together again.”
Spurs have just five points from their opening four games and will be hoping to pick up only their second win of the season when they host Crystal Palace on Saturday.
