Talks between Paul Pogba and AS Monaco are progressing, after contact was picked up following an initial approach several weeks ago, according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Italian reports that talks are ‘going well’ and that it could soon lead to a signature.
The Frenchman is free to play football again following the reduction of a sporting ban for doping charges.
He has been allowed to train since January and play since March, but has waited for the summer to make his next career move.
The 2018 World Cup winner has previously publicly stated that he is open to move to a Ligue 1 side.
Once heavily linked to Marseille, the Frenchman was offered to AS Monaco after Les Olympiens couldn’t justify spending on his wage demands – according to a report from Foot Mercato.

The Principality side have already secured the signing of former Bayern Munich and Tottenham man Eric Dier, also targetting a move for Sergio Reguilón.
In February, 2024 Pogba, who was a player of Juventus back then, was banned from football for four years for a doping offence.
He was provisionally suspended in September 2023 after a drugs test found elevated levels of testosterone in his system.
He was randomly tested after Juventus’ first match of the season on 20 August.
The positive test was confirmed by Italy’s national anti-doping tribunal (Nado) in a second sample in October, and the anti-doping prosecutor’s office requested a four-year suspension.
However, in March 2025, Pogba was given the green light to return to football after his suspension was lifted.
