Portuguese FA Wants FIFA To Award Ronaldo Goal Vs Uruguay

Portuguese FA Wants FIFA To Award Ronaldo Goal Vs Uruguay

The Portuguese Federation reportedly want the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) to award Portugal’s first goal against Uruguay to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo actually thought he had scored his second goal of the on-going 2022 World Cup in Qatar as he jumped high to nod in Portugal’s first goal in a 2-0 win over Uruguay.

The 37-year-old free agent who was recently released by Manchester United felt that he got the slightest of touches to a whipped cross from Bruno Fernandes which nestled in.

FIFA, however, thought otherwise and gave the goal to Fernandes with football’s world governing body writing: “In the match between Portugal and Uruguay, using the Connected Ball Technology housed in adidas’s Al Rihla Official Match Ball, we are able to definitively show no contact on the ball from Cristiano Ronaldo for the opening goal in the game.

“No external force on the ball could be measured as shown by the lack of ‘heartbeat’ in our measurements. The 500Hz IMU sensor inside the ball allows us to be highly accurate in our analysis.”

Nevertheless, according to @elchiringuitotv: “The Portuguese Federation are going to present evidence to FIFA to prove that the first goal against Uruguay was Cristiano Ronaldo’s and not Bruno Fernandes’.”

    What’s different though?

  • Cry baby Ronaldo….He did not touch the ball before it sailed in to the net…. Only the FA are doing this to placate the cry baby and this is not in the interest of the team spirit. Ego will kill Ronaldo
