  • Nature has a way of finding balance. Some time ago we heard of a young man by the name samuel chuwkwueze, he was nicknamed the Nigerian Robben. He delivered stellar performances for his club. His runs and dribbling ability were eye catching. Great things are still expected of the young man. But after about well over a year, the excitement seemed to mellow down. He still did the dribbles and the runs but his low goals return meant that he wasn’t a regular starter in his team anymore and people began to wonder if he was ever going to live up to the hype and big names he was compared to.
Not wanting to waste time on a single player, the Super Eagles coach sort for other options who will provide competition for chukzy. And the gaffer quickly set his sight on Arsenal left footed creative midfielder Bukayo saka. Saka could provide and score goals aplenty and regularly but there was one problem, England wanted him and they eventually got him leaving coach rohr to turn his attention to another left footed talent,Noni madueke who plays for PSV eindoven. This guy could also score goals but he was leaning towards place for france instead of Nigeria. Where did that leave the Super Eagles team. Like I said earlier, nature has a way of finding balance.
Enter, Abraham Marcus, a left footed player who can play on both wings, he is quick and scores as well as provides goals. Can he provide the necessary challenge for the much celebrated chukwueze? Has nature provide this young man to make up for the other similar players we have lost to other countries.? Oh I forgot to mention he plays for feirense a second division club in Portugal. Does that mean he isn’t good enough, the league a player plays in most times helps improve his game but remember portugal has a decent league and though he is currently in the second division, his club are first on the table. I wont begin to clamour for his inclusion in the Super Eagles just yet, I will only watch his progress and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Talking about wingers, these two young guys are doing very well and are hard to ignore – Paul Mukairu and Abraham Marcus. Even if they are not selected for the upcoming March games, they should be in the selection pool, along with the likes of Lookman, Osayi Samuel, Chukwueze, Kalu and Simon. All the wingers in the selection pool will compete for the 4 spots that will likely be available.
N.B. – If Marcus can have the same impact for Nigeria that he has with his club, then we have struck gold. With Lookman on the left, Marcus on the right, and Osimhen/Sadiq leading the line, perhaps our world cup winning ambitions are not too unrealistic after all 🙂 🙂 🙂

Markus will make far better impact in the SE than Paul Onuachu.

If coach Rohr is wise he will try out some exciting talents in the class of Sadiq and Markus regardless of their div 2 status. I see a great bench ahead of Nigeria should their be some transparency and no room for semi skilled players.

A good coach don’t focus so much on the club a player plays or media hype instead  he takes enough time to study each players, knows their characteristics both good and bad to see which player that fits his team system.

A sound coach should be able to give us a quality national team considering the amount of players available to us .
Algeria won the last Afcon with some players playing in Qatar, sometimes the club you plays don’t matter but what you have to offer is more important.
Makairu and Marcus should be taking into consideration for possible call ups in future or even now.

Oga Rohr should better sit up or leave.
