Pre-season: Boniface Scores In Leverkusen’s 4-0 Win Vs West Ham

Nigerian striker Victor Boniface scores his first goal for Bayer Leverkusen in their 4-0 win against West Ham in a pre-season game on Saturday.

Boniface, who joined Leverkusen from Belgian side Union SG this summer, scored in the 38th minute to make it 3-0.

The 22-year-old received a long pass from his teammate Florian Wirtz and hit an impressive volley into the far corner.

After an impressive outing for Leverkusen, Boniface was replaced with 13 minutes left in the game.

Meanwhile, Leverkusen are away to FC Teutonia 05 Ottensen in the first round of the DFB Cup on Saturday 12 August.

Last season Boniface netted nine goals in 37 appearances for Union SG in the Belgian topflight.

    Breaking:

Wild jubilation in Kigali as Rena Wakama leads D’Tigress to record making 4-time-back-to-back Women Afrobasket Championship

    • Congratulations D’Tigress, more power girls!

    • Ehen!Thank you so much @DR DREY for this UPDATE.you see this is the kind of BIG MOMENT I like to CELEBRATE not some people almost INVITING DJ KHALID to come and PLAY because of some MEDIOCRE MOMENTS..

    • Dr. Drey, I don’t understand it anymore. I have just read that FIFA say Deborah Abiodun will also miss England clash. Is this not witch hunting? 3 match ban in FIFA tournament for red card? Alozie still has a yellow card. I hope referee will not gang up to knock her out of a potential quarter final? Wahala no too much?

      • Dr. Drey 9 months ago

Every straight red card is an automatic to game ban.
The severity of the tackle can also earn ‘x’ amount of match bans in addition.
Its there in the rule book. There is also the room for appeals which we didnt take advantage of.

And truth be said, Abiodun’s tackle was career threatening tackle to the lower shin with zero contact whatsoever with the ball, similar to Matuidi’s against Onazi at 2014 WC.

In these days of eagle-eyed Video assisted officiating, no one gets away with such.

I dont see any conspiracy here.

  • He scored brace and not a goal.  He scored the second and 3rd goal. That’s one of the mediocre that we the loyal naija fans love hype. Small time dem go say because na pre-season.

    • Correction… the second goal was later judged to be an own goal.

There is a huge gap between Nigerian men’s success rate in sport and our our girls’ achievement. Still trying to find an explanation

    • Dr. Drey 9 months ago

Nigerians are generally a driven people. But the Nigerian girl child is more emancipated, nurtured and cultured than her African counterparts, compared to the males. Just my thought

  • Nigeria is Brand to behold Soar! Girls!

Burniface is a baller, the guy is too good, is name is victor too, it seems victors are good ballers, vmoses, v ikpeba, v osimen, v burniface. Burniface is like young lukaku, very intelligent player, i personaly rate him above all our strikers apart from v osimen he should be second to osihmen. Awoniyi sadiq and moffi should relax, with this burnaboy, osihmen and orban we a covered with victories

The guy is good am looking forward to seeing him in dead rubber game next month

  • victor boniface move to germany just upped his chances of a super eagles invite. he says his style is similar to victor osimhen but i think he plays better with the ball a his feet than osimhen, he can attack from the left side while osimhen can be more central, if we had a player in the mold of victor moses on the right side of the attack then i would say the attack is ready to score goals a plenty at the next world cup. but lets see what the coach does.
meanwhile i wish boniface the very best in germany, may he score loads of goals both domestically and in the club competitions.
