Former International Olympic Committee (IOC) marketing chief Michael Payne has disclosed that FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s leadership has become radioactive and survival will take a miracle.
Recall that UEFA, CONCACAF, and other global bodies criticized Infantino over a controversial plan to sell a stake in FIFA’s commercial assets.

After mounting pressure, Infantino had no choice but to scrap a plan to sell 20% of a new commercial subsidiary to private investors.
Reacting to the development, Payne, in a chat with AFP, stated that it will be difficult for Infantino to survive what is coming ahead of him.
“I do not think we have ever seen such a fast fall from grace by a sports leader,” Michael Payne, former head of marketing at the International Olympic Committee, told AFP.
“One week ago, Infantino was riding high from delivering a very successful World Cup, and expected to run unopposed for election next year to continue his mandate as president of FIFA.
“Now Infantino will struggle to survive the month.
“How does he find himself in this mess? Gross hubris!

“I learnt long ago to never say never in this world, but this is going to take more than a miracle for Infantino to survive.
“I don’t see how any amount of lobbying or ‘persuasion’ of the smaller countries can save him.
“His leadership has become radioactive, and if he stays there will be total civil war in global football, with breakaways by leading nations and boycotts.
“Its over.”
