Premier League: Eze Inspires Crystal Palace To Victory Against Leeds United

Eberechi Eze Inspired Crystal Palace to an impressive 4-1 home win against Leeds United at the Selhurst Park.

Scott Dann gave Palace the lead in the 12th minute rising beyond Illan Meslier to nod home Eze’s corner.

It was Dann’s first goal since December 2017.

Eze, making only his fourth league start since his £19.5m switch from QPR last summer, then produced a brilliant free-kick to extend Palace’s lead in the 22nd minute.

Patrick Bamford reduced the deficit for the visitors five minutes later.

It was Bamford’s seventh league goal of the campaign.

Helder Costa inadvertently stabbed Patrick Van Aanholt’s cross past Meslier at his near post three minutes before the break.

Jordan Ayew sealed the victory with a cool finish from Wilfried Zaha’s pass 20 minutes from time.

England potentially has so many young talented footballers. They can boast of 4 quality players in every position. They can afford to let go of Tammy Abraham,Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze yet it won’t cause a serious impediment to their team.Yet we were denied of three good footballers that obviously should have added quality to our side.

    Sad indeed.

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. This phrase narrates the mind of most super eagles fans,If we could achieve our aims simply by wishing for them, this three players could easily be ours.

My brother please forget sentiments..playing for England is 10* better than playing for Naija.. Plus even if he not play international.. He will not die.. Please let’s use our heads not emotions in sport.. Most of these guys were born and raised there.. That’s their home also..

No level, make them carry their quality go, i dont miss them at all, we have had better players than them before, and we will still continue to have them, ejuke is there for us, he is making records of highest dribbling in the uefa, we can cant on him, ademola who will join us soon is a great performer too , so why should i miss eze and saka When i have lookman chuk ejuke and kalu, bazee etc? Nigeria is a great footballing nation, have u had of the new kid dembele from jos, people predict him to be wclass already,, what about mls dike the striker, the younger brother of bright dike mehn that family balls well, this new dike is trendy high in the mls league, far better option to tammy abraham, the guy is built strong and fast, with great footworks and powershot i hope america wont snatch him from us. Osimehn despite not scoring at the moment for napoli, his alround play remains world class, he can bench abraham in that same chelsea, we have iheanacho who can score free kicks too and also scores for club morethan these shakara boys, so my brother i nor fit miss eze or uduokhai etc, they are not better than what we have

@collins… you may not miss him, but super eagles will. eze is good (though I don’t like the way he treated Nigeria). but the player that super eagles would miss the most is saka. the guy can play anywhere on the left wing. I always try to watch his game, he is nothing short of world class! imagine what the guy could have added to the team. he would have been our best winger for sure. now that we could be considering to play 3-5-2 in order to accommodate both osimhen and Iheanacho, saka on the left wing and kalu (on top form) on the right would be pure terror to any national team in the world, including Belgium, France and Germany! anyway the lad has made his choice, and I will respect it. so we move.
now I hope dike, akinola (plays in MLS) and that guy playing in Netherlands (forgotten his name) switch allegiance to super eagles; even eze would do us good (me swallowing my pride).
    super eagles all the best!

Eze was quality in that game and by far the best candidate for the MOTM award.

Meanwhile let me go beyond this issue and flow some light about how our talented sons and daughters born and raised in adopted nations are being taken from us to present their foreign adopted nations.

It all comes down to the simple fact that we have to fix our country to become a better and conducive place to grow and live in.

If Nigeria becomes a better nation, the likes of Antony Joshua, Bukayo Saka, Tammy Abraham, Eberechi Eze, Israel Adesanya etc will be born and raised in Nigeria.

A responsible man with a family must strive to make his home comfortable and provide for his wife and children.
If he fails, his sons and daughters will go and eat in his neighbours homes and he must not cry foul of his wife go and seek some “love” in the bed of his neighbour too!

Nigeria needs to be fixed first by everyone and then all things will fall in place for prosperity, growth and greatness !!!

    I hail ooo

@Prince , I cannot agreed less with you, you have just summed it up ( we Nigerian fans ,are only being selfish , if any of these players snatched from Nigeria were to be our blood brothers, would we have discouraged them from taken good opportunity from their second country that is more organized and run by sensible Football federation officials  that did not only put square peg in square hole but particularly cares for the future of their players post football, down there,  when a player kick a ball for one minutes in England National team , his future retirement is guaranteed for life time , John Fashanu did not have remarkable playing time with England national team , ever since his retirement he gets alert of £5k every month while our Rashidi Yekini that his goals exploits took Nigeria to the first ever World Cup died in depression from penury with paltry 50k ,( less than $200) to his mother by the only Sports Minister that can reasoned well for the first time , I need not remind anyone of , an educated Samuel Okwaraji that laid down his life on the football pitch for Nigeria ( same treatment of Yekinni mother after decades) ; Cal Ikpeme was a brilliant goalkeeper for Nigeria that his pedigree has not been matched more than 4 years of Rohr in charge of super Eagle  , he is now a forgotten hero , ordinary goalkeeper training alone , the heartless NFF couldn’t think out of box  to help him , would rather continue to recycle the Aloy Agus
, Laddan Bossos etc that they know they don’t have anything to offer and can easily be manipulated ( that is part of the reason, I was not excited of appointment of Eguafon as Technical Director , anyone that think Eguafon would challenge ineptitude of NFF or have positive input in Rohr team would be wasting their time as Eguafon is not the type of a figure that has strong character to voice his opinion , too timid to act, but such are the ones that can easily fits into NFF systems).

If Ebere Eze , TamAbraham , Saka etc were to be  member of our nucleus family, we would have think  differently; and in any case, do their parents have control over their decision of playing for Nigeria? Not possible ( when you have kids in abroad then you will know what the parents passed through to struggle hard for these kids not to totally forget Nigeria, as they all hated Nigerian systems and it’s senseless maladministration with passion, never wanted to have anything to do with Nigeria failed nation again , because they watch everything that is happening in the news .

@Kingston ; you are absolutely right , Ebere Eze is a quality skilful player that has every potentials of becoming JJ Okocha , average Nigerian young players are not as daring as Okochas , Olisehs ; Amokachi & co at the begging of their football career in the foreign club , would not fight to play penalties, free kicks and play “ No be me spoil am football “ that is why some one like Mikel who should have been at par with the likes of Messi never lived to his full potential coupled  with indiscipline of not been able to manage success as Messi his mate does  , but this Ebere guy never fear to take on anyone despite his young age and new in his team , would want to compete for any ball , strongly believe in himself, it was such daring self believe move that influence his great display in that match .
The loss of these players is just reminding us for a need to put our act together as a country

  • Osimhen scores again!!!! Let the streak continue.

  • I am a big VO9 fan but I believe the pressure of his price tag is getting to him. He needs to do more!. Maybe it’s his first season but he is not living up to the 90Euro price tag at the Mo. well done to the goal but I am sure the Napoli Hierarchy demands more for him because they paid so much.
