Premier League: Iwobi Shines As Everton Beat Fulham Away

Alex Iwobi was in action for 90 minutes as Everton secured a hard-fought 3-2 away win against Fulham at the Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon, reports Completesports.com.

His international teammate Ola Aina also featured for Fulham in the game along with Nigerian-born stars Tosin Adarabioyo and Ademola Lookman.

The trio all played for 90 minutes in the highly entertaining encounter.

England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin bundled Everton in front inside 42 seconds.

Bobby Decordova-Reid hauled Fulham level on the quarter-hour.

Iwobi was instrumental to Everton’s second goal of the game as he made his way down the right before James Rodriguez and Lucas Digne combined to set up Calvert-Lewin.

Abdoulaye Doucoure’s first Everton goal opened up a two-goal cushion at the break for the Toffees.

Fulham were much improved in the second half with substitute Ruben Loftus-Cheek reducing the arrears seconds after Ivan Cavaleiro had deepened the hosts’ penalty woes with a shanked spot-kick over the bar.

  • It was a lovely one…
The game was a more improved version of Iwobi

Everyone’s like “What did Iwobi took before coming into the pitch??”. His performance today was mind blowing. I was much happy when the commentator called him the Nigerian Messi. Both home and away against Sierra Leone, he did well. Second half at home wasn’t too good though but that was the whole team’s fault. But he was arguably the Best player in that away match despite the bad pitch Iwobi was ruthless and looked more purposeful with his every touch. Keep the fire burning bro.

Iwobi was fañtastic at RWb today, for eagles the coach can use a 3-4-3 whenever we are playing against a well organized team

    Balogun/Awaziem, Ekong/Balogun,Akoguma

    Iwobi,Ididi/onyeka, Aribo,/ejara,Zaidu

    Chukwueze,Osimhen, Kalu/Simon/lookman
the above formation gives room for flexibility. We have to add flexibility to our game to our in order to make it difficult for opposing teams to master our game. In the buildup to Everton 2nd goal, Richardson drifted to the right from his left in order to create an overload on the right. Rodriquez dropped to the middle, so after Iwobi mazy run he passed the ball to Rodriquez who passed to Everton Lwb, the Lwb was free cos the attentions of Fulham defenders has already been diverted to the right. Before they could catch up with him, he had already laid the ball on a plate to lewin who slotted the ball into the net. It was a good training ground move.

  • Beginning to show that great potential in you. Dont relent, keep it up. I want to see you play better than this against bigger teams. Scoring goals, creating goals and mesmerizing your opponents.

    Iwobi has me really confused.
Is the boy an AM, a winger, or a wing back?
His performance today as a wing back was almost flawless. Taking on opposing players, great crosses into the box, and he was good defensively as well. Just very impressive all round play.
Victor Moses would have been proud.
Looks like Iwobi has been working hard on the defensive side of his game. And the offensive side is still as good as ever.

Good one from Aina and Adarabioyo as well. As for Lookman, I can’t wait to see this guy in a Nigeria jersey. I’m certain Osimhen can’t wait too. What a player! Skills, pace, confidence. Great crosser of the ball. And unselfish to boot. He will give you a pass if you are in a better position to score. And has the confidence to shoot himself, with both feet, if he needs to.
It’s unfortunate that Fulham have not been getting the needed results. But with Lookman playing like this, they definitely have hope!

      @pompei
Will South/North/West/Eastgate allow this one through to flow to Nigeria? He has set water-tight gates all over to trap any player with a sniff of Naija blood.

Lol KangA, I don’t blame Northgate. Especially regarding this Lookman of a chap. Who no like better thing?
I just hope he ends up with Nigeria. Dat guy is dynamite.

      Unfortunately, we have Rohr

      • pompei 3 years ago

Unfortunately, we also have NO FUTURE FOCUS NFF. Ordinary stadium to play match no dey. Stadia are in dilapidated condition, and NFF dey dia dey look. Players bonuses unpaid. Coaches salaries, for where. Even promises made to players in the past unfulfilled. Siasia was saying recently that the houses promised to them for winning 1994 Afcon have not been given to them. Unfulfilled promises going back 26 years!!!
Rohr deserves blame for the 4-4 fiasco, but he is not alone. All of them must share the blame together.

lookman is more nigerian than british, did you guys know he down to nigeria before the eagles departed for 2018 AFCON nd even took photographs with some guys at onikan stadium lagos,so i think we have no problem with him switching some of their gave them good african orientation like chuka iwobi who brought his son (iwobi)for screening uninvitedly

    • pompei 3 years ago

Lanre, jokes aside, we really could use Lookman. That boy will improve our attack tremendously.
Meanwhile, Iwobi’s dad’s name is Chuba, while Iwobi himself is Chuka. Regarding Chuba Iwobi, any restaurant he goes to in Nigeria, his food and drinks are on the house. Nobody will accept a kobo from him 🙂 🙂

chuka iwobi brought his son(alex)for screening univitedly nd he made sure he arrives camping early,he even stop escorting him down to eagles camp until after EGYPT 2018 when he felt he was matured enough to report….the is a patriot who deserves a national anytime the eagles win a silverware
