Pedro Neto scored twice in the second half as Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory over Everton, handing the hosts their first defeat of the Premier League season.
Neto broke the deadlock just 43 seconds after the restart before sealing the win with his second goal in the 90th minute.
However, the victory was overshadowed by a worrying head injury to Chelsea goalkeeper Emi Martinez.
The Argentina international was stretchered off in the second half after receiving nearly nine minutes of treatment following a collision with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite inside the penalty area.

Chelsea were also fortunate to retain 11 players after Morgan Rogers escaped punishment for a dangerous challenge on Everton’s James Garner.
The former Aston Villa failed to win the ball and caught his opponent with his studs raised, but the incident went unpunished.
Everton struggled to create clear-cut chances after the break, managing just one shot on target in the second half.
Their best opportunity came when striker Thierno Barry headed straight at Martinez, while the Chelsea goalkeeper later produced an excellent save to deny Jack Grealish’s volley.
The result marked Chelsea’s first victory away to Everton since August 2022 and lifted Alonso’s side above their opponents in the Premier League standings.
