Premier League Round 23 preview: Liverpool look to widen gap at top of table with win over Crystal Palace

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Chelsea meet in fierce London derby and champions Manchester City head to Huddersfield

The 23rd round of the FA Premier League season gets underway this coming weekend with current table toppers Liverpool looking to add to their four point lead when Crystal Palace head to Anfield on Saturday afternoon (19 January). Arsenal and Chelsea lock horns at the Emirates Stadium on the same day, while defending champions Manchester City visit Huddersfield on Sunday afternoon.

First things first

Before you go any further, head on over to the Oddsshark website, find your favourite betting site and get your own account up and running using your credit card. As a new customer and with the Premier League campaign already over halfway through, there should be a wide range of promotions and special offers available to you.

Where should I be investing my money?

First up, the match between Liverpool and Crystal Palace at Anfield. Following two losses sin a row the Reds got back to winning ways last time out against Brighton, and still hold a four point lead over Manchester City – Liverpool, at a price of 1.72, remain the favourites to win their first ever Premier League crown.

Crystal Palace, in stark contrast, sit just four points above the dreaded relegation zone. Despite scoring at a rate of less than a goal a game, the London club remain all the way out at 21.00 to suffer relegation to the EFL Championship.

Regarding this match, it is Liverpool who come in s the red hot favourites to take all three points. You can back the table toppers to wrap up the win at a price of just 1.16, while Palace are all the way out at 13.00 to record what would be a shock victory – a draw is priced in the middle at 7.50, according to Oddsshark.

This should be a walk in the park for Liverpool. A 3-0 win for the home side comes in at 7.50, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$37.50 pay out, with Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino at 2.10 to get on the score sheet at any time.

Arsenal and Chelsea to meet in fierce derby

Late on the same day, Arsenal and Chelsea meet in what should be the tie of the round. Arsenal sit fifth in the table but have lost two of their last three league outings – the Gunners are priced at 7.50 to finish in the top four come the end of the season.

Sitting one place and six points above Arsenal is Chelsea, who look to be regaining their composure following a slight wobble. The Blues have won three of their last four league matches and can come into this match with confidence on a high.

And while the betting is tight, it is Chelsea who come in as the slight favourites to claim local bragging rights. You can back the visitors to win at 2.30, with Arsenal coming in slightly higher at 2.90 – a draw would appear to be the least likely result and is priced accordingly at 3.50.

And we are expecting Chelsea to just about edge this one. A narrow, 2-1 win for the visitors is priced competitively at 10.00, thereby offering a ten-fold return on any investment, while you could quadruple your money by backing a combo bet of an away win, coupled with both teams to score, at 4.00.

Champions City head to Huddersfield

And finally, defending champions Manchester City head to Huddersfield in search of another three points on Sunday afternoon. Huddersfield sit rock bottom of the league having lost nine matches in a row across all competitions – they are the favourites to be relegated and are priced at just 1.062 to go down.

City, in stark contrast, have won five matches in a row across all competitions and are playing catch up to Liverpool. They are the leading scorers in the league and this could well be a rout.

It is therefore no surprise to see that City are the clear favourites to take the points in this one. You can back the champions to win at just 1.14 while Huddersfield, despite home advantage, are all the way out at 17.00 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 7.50.

City should walk this game in second gear. A 4-0 win for the away side comes in at 9.00, while you can back City to be ahead within 10 minutes at 4.75.
