Premier League: Troost-Ekong, Etebo, Dennis In  Action As Watford Fall To Tottenham

Nigerian trio William Troost-Ekong, Oghenekaro Etebo and Emmanuel Dennis all saw action for 90 minutes as Watford fell to a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League clash on Sunday.

Etebo caught the eye with his impressive performance for the Hornets in the game.

Heung-min Son curled in a wicked free-kick cross that bamboozled the Watford defence and goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann three minutes before the break.

Tottenham Hotspur secured top position on the table following the win, while Watford sit in 12th with three points.

The hosts uphold their 100 per cent Premier League record and are yet to concede this season.

Watford on the other hand have won one and lost two of their opening three games this season.

  • Mehn what a fortuitous goal. A free-kick from son evaded everyone and ended up in the net. It was an even game from the little I saw. Should have ended in a draw.
    Good to see the Nigerian players doing their part though. Hope watford bounces back from this.
