It’s the business end of the regular season in the ALATSociaLiga with the race for the top 4 hotter and more exciting than anything you’ve seen in Nigeria.
Not even the current Manchester United can guarantee this premium content and entertainment LigaSFL teams are serving.
So, with another game week upon us, why is Matchday 8 a super Saturday?
Look no further as the following top 3 games are slated for the Cappa Grounds
- Atlantic Business vs Dannaz
- Saints Ladies vs Raineri Ladies
- 96Champions vs Citizens
These are three (3) of the biggest games this weekend anywhere in Nigeria for your viewing pleasure and they don’t get any bigger.
Atlantic Business vs Dannaz
A first between these two giants already has a big story and headline around it after the God’s Own Team snapped up former 96Champions coachie, Olayinka Adiro following his sudden exit from the Red Aces earlier this month.
Adiro’s decision to leave the LigaSFL leaders came as a huge shock to every ALATSociaLiga player and fan alike given the stunning marker the former Saints star had left with his former club in his debut season as a manager.
But while his move to Atlantic didn’t come as a shock nor did it make as much headlines as his 96C exit, his first game sees him take on an in form Dannaz team who are on a roll.
Inspired by the brilliant and talented Joshua Ampofo, the Cedars have found their rhythm in the Liga, winning 2 of their last 2 matches after an uncharacteristic shaky start to the season.
In contrast, Atlantic seem to have lost their invincible start to the season after two defeats in the last two matches have seen them drop out of top four (4) to 7th on the table.
The question now is, can Adiro turn their season around and rejuvenate them with a win over the stubborn and improving Cedars?
Atlantic have been one of the best teams so far this season, at least prior to the last two matchdays. But this is what makes football a beautiful sport, how things can change in a short space of time.
Against Dannaz, Adiro has a chance to prove that he is one of the best in the league and indeed has the magic touch as we have all witnessed in the past.

SAINTS LADIES VS RAINERI LADIES
“We have been confident since the commencement of Season 5 and we are determined to carry the ALATSociaLiga cup this season.”
That was from a Saints Ladies heroine Theodora Ikwechegh after they ended the two-year unbeaten run of defending champions Alimosho Ladies on Matchday 7.
This is not the best of times to come up against the Saints Ladies, who are flying and on a roll at the moment, full of confidence that is off the top-tops.
Unbeaten this season with two wins and two draws in four matches, the Saints would hope to maintain that record when they face Raineri Ladies on Saturday.
Raineri haven’t done badly in what is their debut campaign, following one win, two draws and a loss in four games leave them within three points adrift of leaders and Saturday opponents Saints.
While this may not be the best time to face the Saints, in Coach Ayere, the LigaSFL Mourinho, the Ghosts have the experienced Protagonist who relishes games like this and would be looking to fly high where others have failed, handing the Saints their first defeat of the season.
96CHAMPIONS vs CITIZENS
Manager-less 96C take on the only unbeaten team left in the Men’s LigaSFL, Citizens in the last game of the matchday.
Champions enter this match without the man who brought them this far, the charismatic coach Adiro, who has since joined to four rivals Atlantic Business.
This fixture has been a keenly anticipated one since the schedule was released with league watchers looking forward to the tactical battle between two ex LigaSFL stars, Adiro and his counterpart at the Proud Citizens, Adedoyin Ajibike.
However, with the unexpected turn of events, things have changed but this fixture remains one that fans expect something hooogee from this weekend.
Separated by just three points, the Red Aces will be looking to bounce back from that defeat against Egba City and will be weary of the Citizens, who are looking to close that gap between the two to boost their chances of making the top four.
Both teams are meeting for the first time ever in the ALATSociaLiga.
ELSEWHERE
Raineri Ghosts will fancy their chances against the winless All Black when both sides kickoff Matchday 8 proceedings at Cappa.
This game is one that the Ghosts look forward to every season, the Manchester City vs Burnley of the SociaLiga.
Up next is the encounter between Alimosho and defending champions Saints.
The Herd have had a very difficult season so far and it seems things would get even tougher when they host the resurgent champions who believe they are back on track after a series of positive results.
Finally, Egba City take on Blak Haus with one thing on the minds of the City Hawks, three points. After their amazing performance and win over 96Champions, surely the Hawks can’t afford to miss this opportunity of a lifetime against the Fela Band Boys, who are still without a win this season.
