Qatar 2022 W/Cup: Black Stars To Face Brazil In Friendly Game

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed Black Stars will play a friendly match against five-time World Cup champions Brazil.

The GFA made the announcement in a statement on their website on Friday.

Ghana’s football governing body and their Brazilian counterparts reached an agreement for the friendly following Confederation of African Football’s decision to postpone September matches of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The game will take place on Friday, September 23, 2022, at a yet-to-be-named venue in Europe.

The match will give Coach Otto Addo the platform to continue the assessment of his players in the build-up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The Black Stars will play Portugal (November 24), South Korea (November 28) and Uruguay (December 2) in Group H.

Brazil are in Group G and will face Serbia (24 November), Switzerland (28 November) and Cameroon (December 2).

Both Brazil and Ghana have met four times with the South Americans winning all four clashes.

Their first ever meeting was in a friendly in 1996 with Brazil parading players like Rivaldo, Dida, Aldair, Juninho triumphing 8-2.

In the Black Stars lineup back then were Tony Yeboah, Richard Kingston, Samuel Ossei Kuffour, Emmanuel Duah, Daniel Addo and Nii Lamptey.

Their last meeting was also a friendly in 2011 which Brazil emerged 1-0 winners.

I think Brazil will beat Ghana 5 or 6 to zero; because Ghana haven’t strong attacking forward , but Brazil have huge and strong attacking forward.

Although Brazil have very strong and skillful players in every department, I know Ghana can shock them. The Brazilians are not invincible. Ghana also parades strong, young, and skillful players too.

@Obest, they can beat us 10-0, Nigeria will not play in this world cup because of Ghana. At least give us some respect.

@Yaw, football is about winning trophies and not settling scores.
Ghana should go to Qatar and do Africa proud and not to make up ths numbers of teams.
Like it or not since Nigeria, is not represented many Nigerians would root for Ghana and other African countries, so black stars should be preparing and not talking, we also do not want Brazil to beat you 10-0, go and bring the cup to Africa because its 11men vs 11 men

At this time frankly without grudge I think Ghana haven’t a genius strikers like Assamwah gyian or Sully Ali Montari who score on box to box or exctly box strikers; we saw on friendly match versus Japan last months Black Stars striker were losing so many chances to score, they were shooting from distance or shooting so strong over the goal bar.
