Ramsey Back With Gunners For Treatment

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out of Wales’ Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovakia on Sunday with a thigh injury. The 28-year-old, who has agreed to join Juventus this summer, was hoping to make his country’s opening Euro qualifier against Slovakia after missing Wednesday’s friendly win over Trinidad and Tobago.

However, boss Ryan Giggs has confirmed Ramsey has returned to Arsenal for treatment and will not be involved at the Cardiff City Stadium. “We have plan B and we’ve worked on it during the week,” Giggs said. “He was in good form but it gives a chance for someone else.”

The Gunners will now be hoping Ramsey will recover in time to be fit for their next game at home to Newcastle on Monday week (April 1). Ramsey has been a regular in recent weeks in Unai Emery’s side and impressed when playing the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Manchester United before the international break.
