Reasons Peseiro Is Most Favoured To Land Super Eagles Job

More facts have emerged on why Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro is highly favoured to land the Super Eagles coaching job, reports Completesports.com.

Peseiro is expected to take charge of the three-time African champions after the sports ministry gave their approval for his appointment.

The sports ministry had earlier questioned the procedures used by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in selecting the former FC Porto gaffer.

The Sunday Dare led ministry wanted a levelling playing field for all the shortlisted coaches.

Frenchman Laurent Blanc, former Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde and erstwhile Netherlands defender Philip Cocu were the three other contenders for the post.

Completesports.com scooped from sources close to the NFF reasons why Peseiro is favoured to land the job.

Peseiro has an edge over others because of immediacy and availability, plus willingness to live in Nigeria.

His contract is also drafted in such a way that mutual disengagement is possible without Nigeria getting the shorter end of the stick.

Peseiro’s contract will now be for a year with a six- month review period.

The Key Performance Indices(KPIs) in place will ensure Nigeria is able to tap and get the best out of the new coach.

The 62-year-old was first announced by the NFF to take over the Super Eagles after the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Peseiro eventually did not take up the job after Augustine Eguavoen’s temporary appointment was extended to cover the ill-fated 2022 World Cup playoffs against the Black Stars of Ghana.

    It’s Tokunbo once again, folks.
Peseiro may be a good coach, but is he the best we can afford? Really?
We want the best results, but we once again refuse to invest in our own success.
O well, tokunbo can take us from point A to B. We just have to be content with wherever tokunbo takes us.
Let’s hope this one doesn’t break down and leave us stranded in NO MAN’S LAND, LIKE OUR OWN DID.

The frequency at which he changes job is scary. He also jumps at better opportunities irrespective of teams position or situation. If the write up above is true, then he won the job for non- football reasons. Not cool

And why is Odegbami not talking here? From a list of 4 foreign coaches, we tend to be going for the man with the lowest coaching profile. Besides, Rohr was paid $45k from which he paid some of his assistance, but this man will be paid $5k more. It is certain that Odegbami hates Rohr because the old man never allowed agents to force players on him.

Please are you new here or what, or your parrot master has bribed you with shitty peanuts to come and spill garbage. Please he has his own column on CSN for your info. Maybe what you seeking you will find there. No matter what he says the bribe takers in the NFF will still prevail. They were so smart to include in Rohrs contract in the event of getting fired , you would be entitled to certain amount. Didn’t uncle sege warn you forumites here of that before he put pen to paper. But no he was qualifying us with games to spare was always una excuse. Well they will all share out of the $380k anyways.

Is the Sports Minister staying in his portfolio forever? After the Super Eagles disaster, the MKO Abiola Stadium destruction and the banning of basketball in Nigeria? In view of these laudable achievements I’m surprised he has not picked up forms from INEC to run for the presidency.
