Liverpool are being linked with a £67million swoop for Real Madrid playmaker Marco Asensio, who is up for grabs this summer. The 22-year-old has been told he is free to leave Los Blancos as they need to recoup some cash following a heavy summer of spending, with even more signings expected.
Asensio had a disappointing season in the last campaign, but the same can be said of the club in general, and he is still regarded as one of the best midfielders in Europe. Liverpool have been linked in the past and fresh reports in the Spanish media say they will make a fresh approach to do a deal before the transfer window closes.

The need to bring in a new midfielder has intensified following the news that Swiss ace Xherdan Shaqiri could miss the start of the season through injury. With that in mind Reds boss Jurgen Klopp could step up his attempts to get Asensio on board at Anfield, but he will not come cheap at £67million.
