REVEALED: Peseiro Owed Six Months Salary By NFF

Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro is yet to receive his salary for the past six months.

Respected journalist, Osasu Obayiwana revealed the news on the social media.

According to Obayiwana, a former member of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), anti-racism task force, the salary owed Peseiro is $420,000 in total.

The 62-year-old was appointed in May 2022 on a monthly pay of $70,000.

Peseiro, according to the former BBC reporter has already complained to FIFA about his unpaid wages.

Under current FIFA laws, the former Venezuela and Saudi Arabia coach can unilaterally terminate his contract, without prejudice, and will have to be paid in full.

The NFF are currently paying off the backlog of outstanding salaries of former Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr after unilaterally terminating his contract last December.

Which kind country be this. I thought they have learnt from history

Maybe kleptocracy/kleptomania (big words for thieves) is in their blood. This man was so enthusiastic when he started. NFF has set a trap to incapacitate him now.

There’s no money and Gusau flew his girlfriends to enjoy (Fela) in India!

No wonder our home based coaches are selecting wrongly, using operation Pay and play. If you NFF refuse to pay their salaries then they’ll turn to players without future to pay and play..
    What a pity

Nigeria as a country does not exist anymore… Just celebrate our players on their clubs and watch other nations that are serious. That’s all… football that is serious business, we don’t even know how to manage our home league properly before we will even hope for anything. Come to SERIOUS football nations and see how fanatical they are in support of their local clubs on match days.

You have nailed it jimmy. Football that is huge business that we should be bringing in money week in week out we don’t even know how to manage again. Thought when Amaju came in he said all that will be things of the past. what a shame

        • Kenneth 1 year ago

What are you driving at, did we tell our own to owe them there salary? If na local coach now they would have dismissed him or her a long time agao

    • thank you for that comment!

If they can’t MANAGE our FOOTBALL, let them PRIVATIZE it…

SELL it to DANGOTE or something to avoid EMBARRASSMENT and DISAPPOINTMENT(because it can contribute to the COACH and PLAYERS not giving out their BEST due to SALARIES being OWED) thereby making us to miss out in MAJOR TOURNAMENT….

    • MONKEY POST 1 year ago

LMFAO… DANGOTE is too far self. Only AHMED MUSA can BUY the SUPER EAGLES..And MANAGE it WELL LMFAO…

Cos DANGOTE mind still dey to BUY ARSENAL…

At this stage Peseiro can terminate his contract according to FIFA laws and NFF will have to fork out the remainder of his contract while he is no longer coach……Meaning the NFF can be in a situation where they still be paying 2 ex coaches their salaries lmaooo…. Them don swear for that country called Nigeria.

  • I can also confidently bet that NFF is also owing the Falcons, Falconets and Flamingos.

  • Very incredible something. Still paying Gernot Rohr and owing the current coach?

Do they have a competent legal advisor there who scrutinizes contracts before the NFF commit administrative and financial harakiri like in the case of Rohr?

Where is Mr Dare? And what exactly was the plan salary payment. Omo, $240K + Rohr’s monthly 60K or something. Chai! What an agency!

  • Don’t understand why some of you guys are saying Nigeria is this or that. Did the sports ministry employed mr Peseiro on behalf of the government? Of course he was employed by the nff and what we should be asking the nff is how do they spend the monthly subvention allowance they receive from the government, what happens to sponsorship fee they get from nike and other sponsors.
Football is big business and nff should learn to be financially sufficient and independent. The SE is a brand and they should learn how to market it.

Yeye people. They say $50k was a waste of tax payer money on Rhor. They claimed someone with no coaching badge can do the job of GR and even do it better. Even with that, GR was still being owed. Now they went to hire pasero for $70k. Confused people .

From the word go, they made up their mind not to pay the coach, why? because it is not in their DNA nor their policy to pay coaches. In the past half a century, they have never pay coach’s salaries as when due. Any future coach should bear in mind that they will get the job, work his as@ off, and never going to be paid. Some of the National Coaches went to their early graves without ever got paid. The NNF believes that the National coach must do the coaching job, while they collect his salaries to spend it on ashewoos or/and buy Mansions in London, or in Paris. They have never pay, and they will never, never pay the coach.

Lol I ve said it many times location 419 needs to be partitioned by the UN, auction that failed  state to the highest bidder. Kidnapping, Terrorism, corruption, are the new norms. Without serious bloody revolution or division southern Nigeria will never attain  is greatness.

These people are a disgrace. No wonder they can only here third rated coaches because No serious coach in this world would want to touch Nigeria with a long pole.

Useless NFF . They failed to Qualify for the world cup and they still haven’t learnt their lesson. Corruption have eaten so deep into the fabric of our once Great Nation that nothing works in this country anymore. What a shame !!!
