Rohr Arrives Nigeria Ahead AFCON Qualifiers

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr is back in Nigeria ahead of his side’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Benin Republic and Lesotho, reports Completesports.com.

Rohr’s men will take on the Squirrels on March 23 in Cotonou and then host Lesotho at home five days later.

The Super Eagles beat Benin 2-1 in their first meeting and also edged out Lesotho 4-2 in Maseru on matchday two.

The German tactician is expected to release the list of players that will prosecute the two games in the coming weeks.

The Super Eagles were held to a 0-0 draw by Sierra Leone in their last game in the qualifiers last November.

A point in the remaining two fixtures will be enough for the three-time African champions to book a place in the competition that will be hosted by Cameroon.

Nigeria came third at the 2019 AFCON held in Egypt.

Welcome back..We look forward to your list..
Go ahead and invite Ighalo the same manner you invited Sadiq when he was painting Partizan Belgrade and Europa cup games with goals and assists..
The regular hipnocrites on this forum were in support of their master..Some even said that his performance was a fluke insisting that playing in Serbian league does not merit consideration, Olayinka, Awoniyi, Maja, Moffi and Dennis suffered the same fate from world best coach aka Belmadi’s boy.

Now, we know you better.Try another logic. Mentioning these guys as a bait to make a case for your unintelligent and ridiculous intention is dead on arrival. Regular and performing players in top leagues and countries should be top priority.

If the most proficient SE player in the biggest global competition could sacrifice his bumper wages in Saudi Arabia for a more competitive league, then Ighalo should do the same before talking about return..
Perhaps, SE is not lacking in strikers..
I hope fans of Belmadi’s boy calls him to order. Picnick is also supporting the return of Ighalo..
    Ighalo’s my foot !

Next time, if you want to be the one to call the shots in our national team, when applications for position of Head Coach/TA is advertised, put in your application…..but for now, Drink rat poison whenever you see Ighalo back in the SE.

Mr.know it all, as expected you responded in your style of throwing a bait to turn a gentleman conversation into vagabond’s level. It’s obvious that you can’t defend your world best coach on this one. You know your past antecedents are well-documented.

    • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

Hehehehe…..e dey pepper am for body….LMAO…Mr empty brains. Of course I responded in my usual style to your usual typical toutish naysays targeted at whipping up hate over what isn’t your business in the first place. When birds continue to fly without perching, hunters continue to shoot without missing. A toutish comment deserves a vagabond answer.

From the very first minute Ighalo excused himself from the SE, the coach has always maintained the doors remain open if and when he feels like returning, so long he is still active….so how and why it is making you vomit now is a mystery….LMAO. It won’t be the first and it won’t be the last.

Experienced players all over the world do take breaks from their national teams and make a return if/when the coast is clear to do so. But some touts want to make a story out of it as if anyone gives a damn about their existence in the first place……LMAO

There’s nothing to defend here….common sense and simple statistics defend Rohr if he indeed wishes to bring him back…..top scorer in 2019 AFCON qualifying series, top scorer in 2019 AFCON, 5 goals in 5 starts for a club as massive as Man U. There’s no other way to define “tested and trusted”

Once again…..rat poison is not scarce in the market. Pls buy one for keeps and some extra for others In your gang. You will need it the day Rohr decides he wants Ighalo in his team…..LMAO…. because you wouldn’t be able to do more than a dead rat if/when that happens……LMAO.

Oh I see you have moved from invitation based on consistency and performance in top leagues to experience..
    As usual, keep dancing soapy!!
By the way what experience has a player who was rendered surplus and released by Man utd has to offer to a SE team that is filled with exciting top leagues performer..
If El goal Ighalo was that good, mid-clubsides in the premiership would have been fighting for his signature..

Top scorer in 2019 AFCON qualifying series (7 goals in 4 games)
Top scorer in 2019 AFCON (5 goals in 7 matches)
5 goals in 5 starts for a club as massive as Man U.
There’s no other way to define “tested and trusted”….If that isn’t consistency and top level performance I wonder what is…?

Hahahahaha….I even thought you had sense….LMAO…I never knew your hatred has replaced your senses. It doesn’t take even up to a medium level IQ to know Ighalo not playing after renewing his loan deal was not for footballing reasons…..LMAO. That was how you came here vomiting junks that a player who has played 70% plus matches and always gets MOTM nominations on regular basis, despite constant squad rotation is a bench warmer….I wonder how a bench warmer gets MOTM Nominations.

Olodo…im also very sure you didnt hear/read that clubs in England, Spain and Italy wanted Ighalo but his huge wage demand (close to $300k per week) was unaffordable for all of them. It doesn’t require one to be a genius to know that mostly clubs in Saudi, Qatar and China can afford to pay a 31yr old that much in this age and time. That is why it looks mammoth in your eyes when people have these little facts at their disposal, that you refer to it as ‘knowing it all’…LMAO

Mind you Ighalo also turned down Barcelona in 2019’s January window, before being courted by Man U, Tottenham and Intermilan a year later and eventually signed by Man U. Its all in the public domain, but empty barrels will not update their knowledge b4 coming to scratch their anus in public. Pls Tell us which one of your starboys (apart from Osimhen) has ever been courted by any of the above clubs. The managements of those clubs must be stupid to be interested in a “useless, ineffective” striker like Ighalo.

I repeat, better go and buy rat poison now b4 it becomes scarce in the market, bcos the pain of seeing Ighalo return to the SE (if/when it happens) will be too much for you to live with.

  • Larry 3 years ago

    He turned down Barcelona!!!

Can you show us the contract Barcelona offered him ?

Oh I see you are privy to Ighalo’s latest contract and you are sure he is getting up to $300,000 per week in Saudi Arabia.

    • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

“…The club wanted a striker with La Liga experience and someone who understands Spanish football,” Ighalo, who instead opted to stay in the CSL with Shanghai Shenhua, told BBC Sport. It was meant to be a six-month loan and strictly as a back-up striker. It was nice to hear that Barcelona were interested and any footballer would be more than happy to take it. But, with due respect, I had just finished as the second top scorer in China with 21 goals, I deserve better and didn’t want to be a short-term player somewhere. I rejected it, it was an easy decision to make and I chose to stay in China by joining Shanghai Shenhua on a longer contract…”

Hahahahaha….Ignoramuses. Simple google they cannot use….na to dey come argue mumuish arguments up and down dem sabi….LMAO. Dr.Drey must show them everything…..Dr.Drey must teach them everything….LMAO
