Super Eagles heard coach Gernot Rohr has opened up his decision to invite three local players for the side’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Benin and Lesotho, reports Completesports.com.

Rohr originally named Enyimba goalkeeper John Noble in his 23-man squad for the qualifiers , but was later forced to hand late call-ups to Anayo Iwuala and Adeleke Adekunle after some foreign-based stars pulled out of the game.

“I was prepared, I didn’t just pick them out of the blues. We knew we could have players pulling out,” the coach told reporters on Tuesday.

Yobo is definitely in this team as a ball boy and social media enforcer…………can you imagine GR asking his ex-assistants for inputs and not even mentioning Yobo at all. I even heard Yobo has never been sighted at any stadium to watch any PFL match whereas GR at least was present to watch Eyimba vs Rivers

    • @Dr Bank

My honourable brother that is what we all are seeing….

We all know the brain behind this Yobo being assistant to GR…. The person (people) involve and his (their) aim…
      I pray it doesn’t work….

He was actually sent for a purpose and i pray that purpose never come to actualization….

I can’t imagine a country which claims to be “GIANT OF AFRICA” doing things like primitive men…

Is it that we don’t have qualify NPFL coaches that can add something to the team?

How about other ex that has the experience in this field? Even have the needed badges…

Even somebody like Manu Garba can perform and do better than what this our “100 cap” assistant coach is doing…

Why is it in nigeria alone we like doing things up side down and expect maximum result?

Why must a certain sect of people form a cabal and manipulate hundreds of self-acclaim elite?

Anyway; let’s keep our finger cross and watch this local movie PINNICK, DARE and CO are acting….

      The end would surelly tell….

You know I just read ur post now but I’m honestly trying to make a head or tail of what you’re trying to convey. Pls, what are the functions of an assistant coach??? I’d advise u go do a research and come back and post your findings. Don’t just post or write bcs u have data or saw others writing.

You don’t know anything, you open your mouth mentioned Manu Garba, and your local coaches, is it salisu, or Amuneke who has sweared never to worked to work under any Boss… Please fined something else to say. Your anaysis so poor.

Pls stop making issues out of nothing. We keep twisting this and twisting that haaaba.
Are you also aware that some of the coaches he made mention of are local league coaches and have also had experience coaching local players? He did not consult them basically cos of being ex Eagles coaches but cos of their experience as either coaching now or having coached local players before.Aside that if you made your enquiries well you will know Yobo watched the Rivers INTERCONTINENTAL match live.Pls let’s stop raising dust where it is unnecessary.

You people had better also stop this Yobo thing,na there una go dey and the guy go dey fly .Dont dwell too much on it,as he has moved on you too should move on.Yobo has since started a coaching course so what is the problem.

If you keep reading meanings into whatever the head coach says then you will end up falling sick cos oyibo don’t reason the way blacks do.Rohr does not have issues working with Yobo so why should you.

Make yobo learn work now. He is just there for morale. Na so Keshi too start . Assistant coach but he is just a morale booster.

        Does yobo have coaching experience?

Just imagine. No single input from his direct assistant. Chei! And yet, some stone heads would say he can comfortably coach the main team bcs he’s an ex international. We all saw this coming when he was appointed but those who were supposed to kick against it were the very ones supporting the whole idea bcs of their sinister plans which is backfiring now. If he cant recommend good home based players, what is his job then?????? Lol… Assistant for mouth. Iti akwu.. Lol

At the end of the day, which of them will start, abeg go do something meaningful.

  • How funny will this caption have been if it read – Rohr opens up on Home based players : None of them will play

“Yobo has since started a coaching course”

    Great one there!!!

It’s only in Nigeria we’d rather prefer to be attended to by a medical student, who’s not even in his clinicals yet, compared to a qualified and licenced medical doctor even with experience. The direct implications of this would just be to erect more morques

Personally, I love Yobo because he played out his heart every time he found himself in the national Jersey.

I can hardly talk less of him from the time of his performance at the U-23 invitational tournament, his exploits with Obafemi Martins at the tournament, which gave Nigeria Glory at the tournament up until his exploits and leadership roles he played in 2013 when Nigeria lifted the AFCON Trophy.

But it was more like hallucinations when I read he was named as assistant coach to GR, just from the blues. It’s like taking a child from Primary 6 to the Tertiary. Not even when many of the qualified and licenced ones are not finding easy on the job neither the task is a roller coaster. Do we call his appointment grass to grace or preparation for disgrace?

Isn’t it obvious to right thinkers that the Politics of the NFF is to install Joseph Yobo as either the Interim Coach or Head Coach whenever they would be ready to part ways with GR?

No Coaching badge whatsoever. No Coaching Course whatsoever. No Coaching experience whatsoever. Not even for him to start gaining bits of experience with the age grade teams. Haba, NFF!!!!

Remember, woe unto that city whose king is a child

    NFF, I hail Oooo

More importantly calling up a home-based is giving a player the opportunity to flee from poverty
