Rohr: Super Eagles Won’t Underrate Liberia

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr says the team will go all out for a win against Liberia in Friday’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash, reports Completesports.com.

The matchday one encounter will hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

The Super Eagles are overwhelming favourite to secure maximum points against the Lone Stars, but Rohr has cautioned his players to avoid a repeat of the 4-4 draw against Sierra Leone.

On that occasion, Sierra Leone fought back from four goals down in Benin City to earn a draw in a 2021 AFCON qualifier.

“We can’t underrate anybody especially after what happened a few months ago in Benin City (4-4 draw with Sierra Leone),” Rohr stated.

“Liberia have had a good preparation and President George Weah has ensured they have a good team, so it won’t be easy against them.”

The coach further said he is satisfied with the physical shape of his players, who all but one play overseas.

“They’re hungry, they want to win this match. We’re ready.”

Mr.Rohr, the only way you can meet or surpass your past achievement is by eradicating the politics and obvious bias in your handling of the team.
This has been happening since you picked the team for the last ANC and WC. To make my point very clear I will touch base on each dept. of the team and highlight obvious inconsistencies in your recent team selection.

GK: how many matches has Uzoho played this season. He is currently clubless. If your selection was based on current form, the best performing GK ; Adeleye should be on the list. Alloy Agu may be one of the most bias trainer SE has ever had.

DF: I don’t have much issue with this. I will just advice you and your team to try and get Bassey, Tomori & Tosin to strengthen the defence.

MF: Why did you drop the revelation of the last friendly match : Marcus Abraham. If you so much believe in continuity and creating a competitive atmosphere Marcus Abraham should have been in this team. Your publicized intent for continuity and consistency is questionable and often confusing. For example, you decided to add Ozonwafor to our loaded defensive options and dropped Marcus who has demonstrated to be an option to enhance creativity in the attacking midfield,
Striker: Again your fake intent for continuity and consistency is exposed by your inability to include Dennis and Awoniyi in the team. Dennis is our best performer in EPL so far, inviting two other players and ignoring Dennis’s feat is a huge mistake. So far,Awoniyi has been the best Nigerian player. I think a good technical manager will not hesitate to include Dennis and Awoniyi in the team.
Lopsided players selection, wrong tactics, ineffective substitution and low confidence are major issues affecting current SE bench.
If things continue in this manner, winning against top teams in Africa will be difficult.
Perhaps, it appears that certain unholy interests have hijacked the management of SE.
I could be wrong but time will tell..

I completely agree with you, just because Musa scored two goals against Iceland,he must continue to be in the team, whether he is in form or not,u leave players like Dennis and awoniyi out and put Ejike on standby , inviting the likes of ebuehi and ozonwofor to the team.poor game management and low confidence are his major problems .

      • Rohr is in Musa’s pocket or, his inclusion is direct instructions from Buhari and Naija Government. Otherwise from a footballing perspective which ever way you look at it Musa place in that team is not merited. even from a statistical sense. He doesn’t deserve his place.I mean really he came from Kano Pillars to a Low League team in Turkey.

Okay let us use Simi case as an example. He denied Simi Nwankwo saying he needs to move to a bigger club to get called up by Nigeria. Do you know what was funny at the time Rohr made those fraudulent statement. Musa hadn’t kicked a ball for 5 months but was still invited how did they cover his invitation up to fool us stupid fans. Rohr said he is coming there as motivation for the boys only to go back on his word and field Musa against Tunisia. What happened there is that he spat in the face of players whose names where on Stand By. Completely disregarding fair play with one move that move I lost all respect for Rohr. I mean seriously and we are still here praising such a coach NAWA OOOOO!!!!!

Rohr is a bag of Contradiction in one statement he will say Super Eagles is a team for players playing regularly yet he will keep inviting Musa. I think Musa’s case is out of his hands bros in all honesty

      • Very senseless write up @Larry must every players made the team at once. This your write up shows why u won’t Excell if u happen to be a coach rubbish

      • Dennis is playing Regularly but must build on his goal and assist in the first game. The last game against Brighton he did well but he must score more and maybe after 10 games in the league we will see.

Trust me bros Osimhen is a Machine No Cap bros. OSIMHEN IS A MACHINE I REALLY MEAN THAT.. And Senior Man Kels well we all know how well he has improved.

I think for now Rohr is Justified there is no reason for Emma Dennis when you have these two. who knows after 10 games in the EPL Dennis might prove to unavoidable and force his way into Rohr plans. I mean to the point of eye brows been raised but, our top 2 are solid

However I noticed he is not even on stand by which he definitely merits

I thought Tomori is past tense for the SE. He’s already committed to the 3Ls . . . Haba. Must Rohr be blamed for everything, even including the decisions of players who have shunned Nigeria?

      Na wa ooh!

Hehehehe…while trying to make a case for the “most inform players” according to him….LMAOOOo… he in one fell swoop made a case for another player (Abraham Marcus) based on past precedence in national colours……LMAOOOOo. See how people who thik they are wise self-contradict themselves….LMAOOoo. Please he should tell us how many matches Abraham Marcus has played this season to earn this clamour for an invite….LMAOoooo.

Francis Uzoho with World cup, AFCON, Big games and TOP flight experience has played one match this season and has just canceled his contract with APOEL Nicosia to secure a return to a bigger Omonia Nicosia competition in Europe (FAT LIAR said he is clubless)…He is not supposed to be invited to the SE, But Adeleye who is just having his 1st taste of TOP flight football, has played just once this season too and has ZERO international experience should have been the one to be invited to man the post in crucial WC qualifiers ahead of Uzoho…..LMAOOOOo

These 30 players invited by Rohr must ALL be out of form…..LMAOOO. Osimhen should have been dropped for Dennis and Iheanacho should have been dropped for Awoniyi since they are the most “inform” according to our loudmouth technical adviser with no license…..LMAOoooo.

I-too-know people dem. Na dem sabi coaching work pass the coach himself…..LMAOOO.

People who know football should kindly tell them form is temporary, big-game temperament, international experience and class is permanent.

Its World cup qualifiers we are playing here, not friendly matches where people with Zero caps will just be thrown into the deep end of the sea.

Contri people, abeg leave town criers let them continue waling about people who weren’t invited and enjoy the game between our group rivals.

23 different players must be invited to the national team every month……LMAO. Later same set of ignoramuses will complain the coach doesnt have a standing team

  • Tosin was eyeing a place in english europe squad even with a struggling team like fulham, let him enjoy life in english championship not super eagles cAll up

Cape Verde is currently leading central Africa republic in an away fixture. I hope rhor appreciate the task before him..we must beat Liberia and earn at least a draw against cape Verde if we must qualify for world cup. The strategy of cape Verde is to win thier away matches. In this fierce battle you dont underate any team. You also need self confidence. Your selection must be based on current form mr rhor
.there is no room for sentiment. You must apply the right tactics and be flexible enough to take one game before another.

  • Liberia 1 vs Cape Verde 1
wow results already going our way. We are still gonna qualify with games to spare.
.. let’s just hope for a favourable fixture in the next round..

To those who still believe that the inconsistencies in players selection and support Belmadi’s boy’s insistence on picking continuity/past perfoance over current form, I hope recent competitions will make you have a rethink.
Check out the English team, Italian team and even the USA team.
Mancini or Southgate didnt rely on players performance two or one years ago to pick their team but their teams were built on current form and the results are there for everyone.
Mancini did not reserve slots for certain players, all players were given equal opportunity and you could see the competitive nature of the starting 11 and the bench.
Until Belmadi’s boy decides to act as technical handler and not a tool for scrupulous agents, winning against top teams will continue to haunt him.
A good and not fraudulent technical adviser will alwats consider current form ahead of past performance,.
Okay,, should GR believe in past performance and experience as claimed by his die-hard fans, he should go ahead and invite Mikel, Ighalo, Moses, or even ask Okocha to return to SE. If Rohr be established so much in continuity, why didn’t he invite Marcus ahead of bonke/Kingsley.
A sound technical adviser will include our current best performers: Adeleye, Awoniyi and Dennis.

    • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

Hehehehhe…Mr “most in form” ITK, have you forgotten how to write letters…? or did you fail letter writing in school the same way you failed arithmetics that made 4/5 become equal to 90% to you and and your group of liars….? Write letters of invitation to those players na……since Rohr has/did not.

Southgate omitted Mason Greenwood despite his early season form, Danny Ings despite starting the new season with two goals in two fixtures since a summer move to Aston Villa but called up Jesse Lingard despite having played JUST FOUR (4) MINUTES of football since the beginning of this season and Raheem Sterling who has only managed 1 start for Man City this season. John Stones has not even had 1 minute of game time this season yet he is going to start vs Hungary tomorrow.

Roberto Mancini recalled all the fit players from his European Championship-winning squad not minding who has played and who hasnt played this season. Donnaruma has not kicked a ball in anger this season but will start tomorrow.
captain Giorgio Chiellini has played just 30 mins of football this season, but I telling you for a fact he will also start tomorrow ahead of other Italian defenders who have played every second of preseason and the new season. Marco verratti is yet to complete a league match this season having not regained full fitness from injury, yet he was listed. Manuel locatelli has only managed 25 minutes of football this season….he was called up.

Let me save you some disgrace and not go further.

Mr “most inform oversabi”, there’s no coach in the world who will throw away his standing team in exchange for some purple patched debutants ahead of crucial world cup qualifiers.

Adeleye has played just his first 1st division football in his career yet he should man the post ahead of Uzoho.
Dennis is just getting his club career back on track but should be in the team ahead of only God knows who…Osimhen? or Iheanacho?
Awoniyi who has never worn a SE jersey before and just hit 4 of the 5 goals he’s had this season within the last 2 weeks (when the list of invitees had already been compiled and letters been sent to clubs) but he should start ahead of Osimhen, Iheanacho and Onuachu because it the midfielders and strike partners he has in his club he will bring with him to back him up also in the SE.
And since you are now Marcus Abraham’s mouthpiece, why not tell us his current state of fitness and explain to us why he hasnt played 1 second of football this season….since you are more in communication with him than Gernot Rohr is.

It is with 2 days of training your “most in form” debutants would gel with the team and start firing from all cylinders in crucial world cup qualifiers. The rest of the players called up are not “in form”….LMAOOoo….they are “out form”. They cant get the job done. Your “most inform” debutants are the players we cant afford not to have if we want results this weekend…..LMAOOOo

Rohr called up 30 FIT AND PLAYING SE squad members to camp. If it pains you that much that your “most inform” players were not called up…….turn off your TV when we play against Liberia on Friday and subsequently against Cape verde.

Stop telling us fat lies that Mancini or Southgate didn’t rely on players previous performance or picked their teams solely current form.

Experienced coaches know that when it comes to qualifiers for major competitions, the devil you know (that is fit and playing) is way better than the angel you dont. No coach has time to be teaching new players all over again in 2 days what he has been teaching the rest of the team in 8 months. Unless there’s a major injury, major loss of form or outright unavailability, most coaches maintain consistency with their line ups for winner takes all matches like world cup qualifiers.

Consistency from the likes of Awoniyi and Dennis will earn them a call up next month if they didnt make it to camp this time. And has for Adeleye….he still has the whole of this season in his 1st season ever in a premier division to show he has even arrived…not to even talk of a SE call up. Not where the likes of Uzoho, Okoye, Yakubu etc are already counting SEASONS. Not to talk of Akpeyi who is still hugging headlines even on the continent.

Larry you’re right kindly leave commenting and arguing with these dumbass home based talkatives.

        Hahahaha…..foreign-based idiot. You are back…?

Your mates are running chain of businesses and companies at home, spraying bags of cash at parties….impoverished lowlife like you is holed up in your shack in ghana, telling us lies you and your siblings live in Europe close to top managers in football, bragging about $100 monthly gross forex earnings and counting likes and dislikes on a public forum……LMAOOOoo

Welcome, we have seen you….you can now crawl back into that dustbin you call a home.

        • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

Dr Drey are you minding those scumbags?? The only thing they come here to do is to brag about inconsequential results and trading forex at an old age. Ignorant lowlifes. Lmao!!!

  • Larry 3 years ago

    @Chima, it is well.
Local Dr. ITK, I have told you several times to learn how to argue coherently.
Your accusation is baseless and I won’t give in to your pranks.
My point is very clear your world
coach should stop using deceitful mode to hide his fraudulent activities.
He talks about continuity bit chose to bring in new players Kingsley & Bonke ahead of Marcus and Dennis who had been part of the team.
He talks about player’s playing regularly in their teams but chose to invite Ozonwafor and Uzoho when a certain Adeleye is currently the best performing GK.
He cries loud about top five leagues it chose to invite ejuke and Onyekwuru when Dennis and Awoniyi are performing well in top five league
    Who is fooling who..

    • Coachie 3 years ago

      Mr Larry;
Do you know football at all plus are you in the know that all our entire midfield players are out of the game against Cape Verde (except the English FA back down on their decision before the game). If you are aware of all these and you are still asking questions as to why Bonke (the Malmo guy) and Kingsley got called up, then i am afraid there is nothing more to say to you. Also, am in awe you are comparing midfielders to strikers, it’d even make more sense if you were asking why Nwobodo or Alhassan Yusuf were not called up and perhaps there maybe reason(s). Abeg make we dey try think before we punch our keypads.

      • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

Lmao!! @Coachie. Don’t mind the fool. He’s crying about top 5 leagues but forgot that the same Kingsley he’s criticizing his call up plays in Serie A Lmao!! Dennis who was surplus to requirements at Koln before getting a deal with Watford that’d just been promoted to the EPL. So if Watford are still in the championship with Dennis this season the dumb fool will still be crying about Dennis invitation Lmao!!. Awoniiyi that just secured a permanent move to Hertha Berlin and was mostly injured towards the end of last season should be called up ahead Osimhen and Iheanacho. Ejuke and Onyekuru are wingers he’s comparing midfielders and wingers to strikers that’s how myopic they are Lmao!! At least he’s no more bragging about inconsequential results Lmao!!

        • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

Hahahahaha……AyPhilly, Rohr should have invited Centre forwards to shore our depleted midfield and wings because they are playing in the top 5 leagues…..LMAOOo….that is what our “most inform olodo” wants to see but is not seeing, that his making him bleat like a goat on heat…..LMAOOooo.

And he is up there talking about coherent and baseless arguements…..LMAOOoo….what can be more incoherent and baseless than all the sewage he is spewing……LMAOOooo.

A goalkeeper who just played his 1st match in a 1st division in his career is Nigeria’s “most inform” goalkeeper that should man the goal posts in a key world cup qualifier. Even people who got nominations for best goalkeeper in the CAF champions league are not sure of starting for Nigeria yet…..LMAOOoo.

Common sense no just common at all.

      • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

        Hahahahaha….leave the “most inform ignoramus”.
We have a depleted midfield and he is biting trees about the non invitation of Awoniyi and Dennis and a goalkeeper who just played his 1st match ever in his career in a first division ahead of Uzoho who was no 1 for Apoel Nicosia last season before moving to Omonia Nicosia yesterday…..LMAOOoooo

That is what you get when common sense is far from people who think they are wise…..LMAOOOo.

He first told us lies that Uzoho was clubless….LMAOooo. The same Uzoho that was in goal for APOEL in 23 games last season despite recovering from a year-long injury and still started this season in goal as 1st choice…..suddenly becoming clubless…..LMAOOoo

Then he switched to telling us lies Mancini and Southgate until I slapped his mouth with facts…..LMAOOooo.

Thank God some people are nowhere near the management of our football, otherwise, Dennis and Awoniyi would have been the ones to play in the midfield vs CapeVerde by the time all our midfielders have returned to England to avoid sanctions by their clubs……LMAOOoooo.

Dennis and Awoniyi would have also played on the wings ahead of Onyekuru and Ejike. LMAOOOoo

Some people really dont have brains at all…….LMAOoooooo

  • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

Hahahaha…how does this validate you lies that Uzoho is clubless or that Mancini and Southgate did not consider previous performance while naming their squads……..LMAOOOoooo
