Rohr To Face Strikers’ Headache For 2022 AFCON And 2022 World Cup Qualifiers – Dosu

Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph says it will be music to hears of Gernot Rohr with the way Super Eagles strikers are scoring goals in Europe.

Simeone Nwankwo who has been impressive for Italian side Crotone this season has scored a staggering 12 goals since March this year making him the top scorer in the whole of Europe since the month. Simy has so far scored 19 Serie A goals this season and 12 of them were registered in the month of March and April.

Kelechi Iheanacho maintained his prolific goals scoring form after scoring in Leicester City’s 4-2 defeat to Newcastle United at the King Power Stadium on Friday, May 7.

He has also been nominated for both Premier League player of the month as well as the goal of the month awards. The Nigerian international who was Premier League’s player for the month of April sustained the performance that has seen him nominated for the same award for April.

Victor Osimhen grabbed his eighth goal of the season following Napoli’s 1-1 draw with Cagliari in the Serie A on Sunday, May 2 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. The former Lille of France striker who struggled at the start of the season is beginning to make an impact for his side after he was handed his 12th start in the Italian topflight.

There other strikers such as Genk’s Paul Onuachu, Lorient’s Terem Moffi and Almeria’s Umar Sadiq who are also painting Europe with goals but are yet to convince the German tactician.

Reacting to their impressive goal-scoring statistics, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist in a chat with Completesports.ng, said that Roh has a big decision to make in terms of selecting the right strikers for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers.

“Wow…that’s an interesting question considering the fact that Rohr can’t select all the strikers for any major tournament. It is a piece of good music to the ears of any coach to know that his strikers are painting Europe with goals. And at the same time, a big headache too because you have to decide which of the players best suits your style of play.”

I dont see any headache there at all. Once we set the minimun standard and qualities of a stricker suitable for super Eagles we can trim the list down
    .For me my criteria are as follows ;
    [1] quality of league.
(2} quality of team in terms of champions league and Europa league and {3} number of goals scored from take ons and open play.
    Now using the above criteria
    Our best stricker are
    1 victor Osihmen
    2.kelechi Ihenacho
    3.Teri morfi
    4.Taiwo Awoniyi
Anything. Outside this is a gamble that may explode when the going gets touch

POTENTIAL AND QUALITY OF PLAY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT NOW WHEN IT COME TO NATIONAL TEAM. CLUB FOOTBALL IS DIFFERENT FROM NATIONAL TEAM FOOTBALL. I BELIEVE U STILL REMEMBERED AMOKACHI, AGHAHOWA,UTAKA OSAZE’S POTENTIALS.
IT IS BECAUSE OF OSIMHEN’S POTENTIAL(I.e strength & power) MAKE GATTUSO STILL BELIEVE (Not lose hope) IN V.OSIMHEN. AND THAT IS D REASON WHY HE HAS EDGE ABOVE OTHER NIGERIA STRIKER.
    ## WATCH OUT FOR LOOKMAN, MOFFI, DESSERS ##
