Rome Derby: Abraham Breaks Argentina Legend Batistuta’s Record At Roma

Tammy Abraham scored two goals as Roma thrashed Lazio 3-0 in the Rome derby in Sunday’s Serie A clash.

Going into the fixture, Abraham was tied on 21 goals with Roma legends Gabriel Batistuta and Vincenzo Montella, as the three players with the most goals scored in their debut season at the Italian club.

Abraham opened the scoring against Lazio in the first minute which made him the first Roma player to score 22 goals in all competitions in his first season.

The former Chelsea striker doubled Roma’s lead in the 22nd minute to extend the record for the season to 23.

Also he became the second English player to score a goal in a Serie A Rome Derby, after Paul Gascoigne for Lazio on 29 November 1992.

Meanwhile, Lorenzo Pellegrini was also on target for Roma after netting with five minutes left in the first half.

The win took Roma to fifth place (Europa League qualification spot) on 51 points.

There is something I’ve been pondering over with no answer so decided to bring it to the floor. This is it: I noticed that immobile in Lazio is the Top scorer in SeriaA with 23 goals followed by Tammy Abraham with 22goals.Despite this outstanding feat people don’t talk about Immobile and Tammy rather it’s Osimhem everyone and club is talking about. Some one who is placed 8th or there about in the top scorers chart. This is very strange .Why is there so much attention and focus on Osimhem instead of immobile and Tammy

    • I believe it because, of the way Osimhe plays that bring about that, his explosive and brings the best of others around him somewhat. Also, looking at the numbers of matches he has missed to covid and injuries as compare to Tammy and Immobile, you will understand that his goal ratio to matches is up there with them.

He’s overhyped. That’s all. I have watched osimhen so many times. He can get missing in games at times. He still needs to work very hard to get to the level of a benzima,Harry Kane, lewendawsky etc. My opinion

Hmm, is over hyped that’s why every club in Europe has their eyes on him

Because they see raw potentials and qualities in him beyond their own top marksmen that they could exploit to even greater effect than Napoli, had he been their player which Napoli is currently not doing due to their play pattern.

Yaw you’re an He-goal check Osigoal’s real age and the other guys. Don’t you know Osimen is still evolving keep opening your mouth. When you see his Headers Only Cristiano does better. Can you compare him to Jordan Ayew??? Answer me or take your hate to your Mother.

Simple answer, every Nation will look at, analyse and talk about its own. Osimhen is Nigerian, so we talk about him on our sites and Napoli fans do also, Abraham will be talked about by Roma and English fans while Immobile will be hyped by Italian Media and Lazio fans.

But when comparing, let’s compare in proper perspective.
Tammy has 23 goals in 40 matches in all competitions Ratio: 0.57

Osimhen had 15 goals in 25 matches Ratio: 0.6

Imobile has 26 goals in 34 matches Ratio: 0.76

Then also remember all Osimhen goals are from open play, no penalties because he is not their penalty taker. And he has won at least 6 penalties for his team which has all been donated to Insigne. Even the big games he has not scored he has won penalties. So if you have eyes you will see a great player rising.

As for Imobile, he is already a world class striker while Abraham is also a great player by every standard.

Spot on! If I may add, Osimhen is also seen to have a higher ceiling based on his qualities(strength, speed and aerial ability), pretty scary the levels he could reach.

He also a talisman who can decide games on his own.

Vlahovic is second o, while Tammy Abraham is 4th with 15 goals. Is because of his qualities. 1. He plays for the team, even if he do not score, his team can be sure of winning 2. He has pace and strenght 3. He’s a turn in the flesh of defenders bcos of his sharpness. 4. He looks unstoppable 5. There is something in him that is making you to know he will be a great goal scorer, bcos he knows how to score goals whenever the opportunity presents itself.

    • Tammy only has 15 serie a goals. Pele, and osimhen has 11 goals even though Tammy has played more minutes than osimhen because of his injury

      • Se you no know the reason he dey wear glasses and he has been scoring back to back goals if you go to transfermarket and you look at their goal ratio per game you will know osimhen is trying than even vlahovic and beside osimhen doesn’t play penalties, Tammy is already Roma penalty taker
