No oshimen, no sadiq, I wonder who will make the striker list for the upcoming game with Algeria..

    • Greenturf 2 years ago

This was one of the reasons we failed to qualify for the world cup, injuries to first team players prior to games.
I feel sorry for the poor lad who had everything going well for him at Almeria.

    • Am So sad and devastated by this news….Sadiq will come back stronger and better because I will keep praying for him….. Osimhen is out too so the stage is left for the others to try their luck
      Awoniyi
      Desserts
      Moffi
      Success
      Okereke
      Dennis
All playing in Top 5 leagues across Europe…..We are well stocked in this department so I don’t want to hear any nonsense ighalo here abeg……. Victor Boniface is a striker am following too….. that guy is destined for greatness in no distance time.

I feel so sad for him.. A new player who needs to stamp his authority in his new club getting injured to last a full season.. I pray he gets back strong..

This will give fresh chances to new players who might originally struggle to make the team.. Something similar happened in the afcon but we didn’t call the right replacement and it cost us a place in the world cup.. Adequate replacements are needed for any top side.. I expect moffi, iheancho and success to be called up in the strikers position for the upcoming game.. Hopefully the new players will take their chances

Y’all don’t need to WORRY about who will STRIKE for US…

WE gat the MOST EXPERIENCED IGHALO remember?

  • Ololo 2 years ago

If we don’t use this friendly games to build the team and invite young players for the future we will suffer in no distant time.. afcon is in two years time and our next competitive game in in March.. why invite an igalo that will likely not make the next afcon squad.. we have so many young blood doing well in their various clubs and waiting for the chances..

This is a friendly match and should not be all about winning.. players like balogun, ekong, onyeka, shehu , Etebo should stabilize first in their club side and should be left out of the team list,, with the injuries it is another opportunity to try out new players… I expect to see alot of new faces when the list is finally out

All these players are way past the age they claim to be hence the injuries, the healing process takes a longer time than expected,
African players will continue to experience these set backs as long as they keep falsifying their age,you can’t cheat nature
Wish Umar and Oshimen quick recovery I rest my case

    • GentleD 2 years ago

Bros, why do you write like …, make I no just complete am. Ansu Fati, Dembele, Hazard et’al all falsified their ages too bcos they all also experience re-occuring injuries abi. Nawa for you oh. Please go and google ACL in sports and its time to heal.

      • .@GentleD, thanks for the small lecture you gave him. I pray it sinks. The likes of Rosicky, Cazorla, Vanpersie, Chiesa, Robben, Woodgate, Hargreaves etc are all African using false age back then. That was why they spent majority of their football careers on sidelines and players like Eto’o, Mikel, Musa, Song, Yaya toure, Drogba etc the enjoyed football were all Europeans.

If u are a striker and u know u can score in every game … Use Sense play the ball … U are an access to ur team . The bad men are on the field to kill and destroy…..the person dat gave u injury wil only receive yellow or at worst two matches ban.

I have already said Super Eagles coatching crew must make overhaul on SE pattern of play and changing strong and good players over fragile and shaky players; the new pattern is strong and agressive , pressing defesive play from back to midfield to attacking especially defensive midfield is bad line at SE team; so strong and agressive and ferocious players mus be recalled to execute this new philosophy which SE need now; strong players must be recalled just like Alhassan Yusuf,Joel Obi,Usman Mohammed, Oneydika, Anderson Esiti, Nwankwo Obiora for defensive midfield ,players like Etebo, Onyeka, Bonke must be exculded from SE; players like Valentine Ozorwafor, Egoh Ugboh, Kevin Akpoguma, Caleb Akpany must be recalled, players like William Troost, Leon Balogun, Semi Ajayi must be exculded from SE; players who are exculded are weak and shaky look at William Troost on Ghana matches , Mexico and Ecuador matches he committed many mistakes and errors cost SE beating by these teames.Forward line in SE needs new faces who have sensibility on playing box to box just like Victor Boniface, Emanuel Emegha player of Sturm Graz of Austria, yira Sor and Moses Usor players of Slavia Praha of Kcskoslovakia, Godwin Savior player of AC Casa Pia Lisbon of Portugal.Super Eagles will be formidable and incredable team on few simple time.

    • “so strong and agressive and ferocious players mus be recalled to execute this new philosophy”
      *Joel Obi
*Nwankwo Obiora (Musa , Onazi, Ighalo’s sets)
      *Valentine Ozonwafor
      *Egor Ugbor
      *Victor Boniface.
      *Emmanuel Emegha
      *Yira Sor
      *Moses Nsor
*with 17 or 19 year old goal keeper from Denmark.
All these names are your “so strong and ferocious players?
If you believe you don’t need Omeruo, Musa, Ighalo, Balogun, Onazi in the team anymore then why on earth do you need Nwankwo obiora and Joel Obi in your team if you are truly  building for the future?
I beg Paseiro is a new coach with different approach from Rohr and Eguavoen.  He has played 2 competitive games and won. Rohr with his defensive approach back then canneva score 10 goals against a team even though he’s one of the best we ever had. So paseiro is still winning. Let’s allow him to do his Job I beg. Enough of your scoutings from Vietnam, Hiroshima and so on I beg. Let’s at least wait till he starts fumbling with his chosen players before we start entering Saharas for players. Nawa o!

@Hassan Tia, I know you are entitled to your opinion but “Joel Obi”? haba! Nwankwo Obiora?? We have seen Anderson Esiti play for the eagles and he never impressed.

Joel Obi is playing for reggina in serie b for goodness sake. There are only 3 players worthy to be considered for the eagles in my opinion and they are Alhassan Yusuf, Ralph Onyedika and Yira Sor. @Sean, you cracked me up with Vietnam and Hiroshima…lol.

@Hassan Tia, please we shouldn’t derail the progress Peseiro is making.

In my opinion, players that deserve a look in are Alhassan Yusuf, Onyedika, Yira Sor , Malcom Ebiowei and we may try out the gk from Denmark if he is as good as his coach says.

In goalkeeping Super Eagles coatching crew must recall Mark Ugoba player FC Midtjylland of Demark, goalkeeper from NPLF according to the technical positions of them at the leauge.

When vetern passed coach Stephen Ketche has won Afcon. Cup of Nations in South Africa 2013 he has made a big overhaul for Super Eaglese has excluded ex basic SE players from the team like ayodele adeleye, Onyekache Apam, Taye Taiwo, Victor Obinna, Osaze Odemwigie,Obafemi Martins, Chidi Odiah; then he has recalled new youth players like Ogenyi Onaze , Nwankwo Obiora, Ahmed Musa, Fegor Ogude, Sunday Mba, Victor Moses, Efe Ambrose, Nosa Igiebor,Elderson Echiejile, Emmanuel Emenike, Brown Ideye; but Ketche has left some ex experts players like Joseph Yobo,John Obi Mikel,Okechukwu Uche, Vincent Enyeama; I recomnend Peseiro to exclude any shaky and weak player who can’t accommulate with a new philosophy or a new pattern of playing , I recommend him(Peseiro) to let Omeuro , Ahmed Musa, Uzoho, Aina, Ebuehi, Simon Moses , Samuel Chukwueze, then he must exclude William Troost, Frank Onyeka, Oghenekareo Etebo , Semi Ajayi, Leon Balogun, Maduka Okoye, Innocent Bonke.

    • Lol! @Mr recommendator, how many of those so called young players that Keshi called up are still active? he called Young Onazi back in 2013 and he played his last best game at the World Cup in 2014. Where is fengor ogude, where’s mba? Where’s Igiebor?  Michael babatunde, uzoenyi, Reuben Gabriel etc These names shine for roughly 2-3 years .
While the likes of Iheanacho, Iwobi, Alina, Indidi, Osimhen , Simon etc had been there with Rohr since 2016-17 that’s 5 to 6 years and are still active. I even remembered that the likes of iwobi, Iheanacho and Simon played under Oliseh and Siasia before Rohr came around in 2016. So enough of your Obioras and Joel Obi and those players from Shenghen countries that you are clamoring for and let coach do his Job.

Sorry not accommulate but accommodate with a new philosophy.
