Saints Star Facing Six Weeks Out

Saints Helens coach Justin Holbrook has confirmed Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook is facing six weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury.

(Saints star) McCarthy-Scarsbrook picked up the injury against Wigan on Good Friday and is now facing a spell on the sidelines, along with Mark Percival, who pulled a hamstring in the same game.

Luke Thompson picked up an injury on Easter Monday and is set to undergo a scan, meaning Holbrook will be forced to juggle his side over the coming weeks. “Louie has damaged his knee and will be out for around six weeks, Mark Percival will be out a similar time with his hamstring,” Holbrook said.”Tommo is getting scans today on that ankle injury so that could be a few weeks at least.

“Hopefully it is not too bad but we are not sure at the moment. Hopefully he will not need surgery – they usually just put them in the boot for a few weeks to stabilise it. “We will know more later in the week.

Tommy Makinson suffered a back spasm, which got worse at half time so he had to come off. Zeb Taia and big Al missed on Monday as they were just getting freshened up from a few bumps and bruises. “They will be right to go this week. Other than that we have just the same bumps and bruises that every club has after a busy Easter.”
