SC Paderbon Bid  Jamilu Collins Farewell

Bundesliga club SC Paderborn confirmed defender Jamilu Collins will leave the club at the end of the season, reports Completesports.com.

Collins will end his five-year association with the modest club at the end of the current campaign.

The left-back linked up with Paderborn in September 2017 on a two-year contract following trials at the club.

Collins scored only one goal in 83 league appearances for the club.

The goal came in Paderborn’s 3-2 defeat to former European champions Bayern Munich.

The Kaduna-born defender has also played for clubs in Croatia and Slovenia.

Collins was linked with a move to Turkey last summer.

On the international scene, Collins was part of Nigeria’s squad that came third at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. He has made 11 appearances for the Super Eagles.

He was also part of the squad to the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.

    How did this guy break into the national team?one goal n 83apperances is so appalling for a defender.nna na wa o team selectors in the national team should stop in the national team have failed us..how can a player be selected to represent a country having this kind of statistics.

    • What did you call him? A ‘Defende!’ Defenders are supposed to defend, not to score goals, so you should not judge him by number of goals scored but by Tackles won, Clearances done and possibly Assists.

  • Erm the report is not factual. In addition to the goal against Bayern in the 2019/20 season, he also scored this season against Holstein Kiel in the 4-3 win in March 2022.
