Season KO For Greenwood

Season KO For Greenwood

Hull KR expect James Greenwood to miss the remainder of the season after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament.

The second row was injured minutes after coming off the bench in Sunday’s 10-6 win at Wakefield and after receiving treatment did not return to the field.

Greenwood has now undergone scans and it has been confirmed he has ruptured one of his anterior cruciate ligaments.

The Robins say the forward, who is out of contract at the end of the year, is now unlikely to feature again in 2019.

A statement said: “The club can confirm that James Greenwood has undergone scans following an injury sustained in last weekend’s game against Wakefield Trinity. “The second row was helped from the field and did not return to action during the round-five tie. “Scans have confirmed that he has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will have surgery in the coming weeks. He is not expected to feature again in 2019.”
