There is serious headache for Rohr and thats whr his technical acumen will be called to question. So many nigerian strikers on form right now but which of them will a perfect fit for SE? Thats whr the problem lies bcos this is not a question of stats has Rohr tends to believe by consistently onuachu despite being a misfit in SE set up. The coach indeed must dig deep to select who will fit well in his style with results to show for it.

    • Serious headaches for were,u guys should stop making things more hectic for d old man simmy was d highest goal scorer at serie b n every dick n Harry was clamouring for his recall to d national team since d commencement of serie a how many goals has he scored?we should learn how to manage our expectations cos what we have at d moment are average players,d present eagles who can match babayaro, oliseh, okocha, kanu, amuneke, ikpeba, amokachi etc

  • A BIG CONGRATS TO MY BELOVED SADIQ Your abilities and talent has never been in doubt a bonafide Super Eagle…

  • My Guy! I have always known there was something special about you right from when you were discovered in roma. You were rough round the edges at the Olympics but still scored 4 goals and you have scored goals wherever you played (except rangers where gerard had his own reasons for not using you much). But your back!!!
Firing on all cylinders. YOU can Play as a lone striker from what I see in the videos. You have pace, skill, STRENGTH, finesse and determination. You score and create goals. Your the ultimate attacker.
Super Eagles dont need attackers who dont know their way to goal. They need players like you, awoniyi (who scored again over the weekend), osimhen (the number one choice, for NOW!) etc
If I was Gernot Rohr I will invite all three of you come march as long as your all still in form and banging in the goals.

  • Just watched the highlights of the game. He could have scored four goals in the game. The bar prevented the 4th goal from going in. It was like he was playing with their opponents. That third goal reminds me of something nwankwo kanu would do.
What a guy, what a player! A fitting backup to Victor osimhen. Tried and trusted. Though not for the Super Eagles but for the U-23s and im expectant that he can do the job for the Super eagles as well.

When a striker scores 17 goals and 17 ASSITS in one season, you need to take him serious. If there is one striker I am confident will crack his way into the SE with the least effort, it is this lad. He scores, he assist, he can play with his feet, he is quick, fast, packs a bag of tricks and deceptively languid….and he hardly breaks a sweat. Awoniyi, Umar, Dessers are the specie of point men we need at the moment…not wait and get strikers who will be as good as useless once our opponents can cut supplies from the wings. You are rest assured these ones, just like Osimhen will run any central defense ragged for 90 minutes and beyond.

      @Drey  I agree with your assessment 100%

but will oga Rohr follow the suggestion?

He don’t study players before inviting them to know if they can fit into his system and that’s one of my problem with him .

Let me like and applaud Dr. Dreys comment this opening 2021. Hehehe… But the problem is will oga Rohr agree to give these decent mentions playing time? The day Oga Rohr tries to be flexible… believe me Super Eagles will start scoring nothing less than 3goals every match… If coach Rohr falls in love with a player even earthquake will not shake his stance on that player… Kai baba rigid die! Lol…

He needs to give your wait and get tall for nothing striker (who can hardly bring down an aerial ball successfully to his feet) enough game-time to play himself out of SE reckoning so that when he eventually stops inviting him, oversabis that know the job more than him (but have never attained 10% of the level he has attained) will not question the reason why “the highest scoring Nigerian striker in Europe” was not invited to the SE

Paul Onuachu is far better than Sadiq Umar and Taiwo Awoniyi.

  • The super eagles team is a lose-lose situation, its a corrupted team. On one side the team is primarily composed of at least local home base igbo players, which are average or below average players, no diversity at all. But for a non igbo to get recognized by the Nigerian team you have to do well abroad. There are so many talented Nigerian players doing well but not even called up. For non igbo player you get max 3 call ups. If not that, then is biracial players. Amaju Picknick wants igbo players if not, Rohr gets biracial Germans players. I mean so many Nigerians doing well abroad and not one of them gonna get a future call up. Olayinka, Awoniyi, Sansui, Kayode, Sadiq and more. If you are okay with this current team, you like mediocrity.

I have always love this guy ever since he bursted into scene during his first game for Roma against Milan and scored. I knew he such a very good player.

However, I don’t see GR inviting to SE soon because of the league he is currently playing.

  • Dalmar 3 years ago

As nice as this is, the super eagles teams are only for igbos, he wont make it, the team is corrupted. From Picknick to Rohr

    • @Baba and Dalmar,..But Aina, Akpoguma,Sanusi,Ajayi, Etebo, Ebuehi,Ekong and Osimhen etc are not Igbos

  • Ahmed Musa
    Moses Simon
    Victor Osimhen
    Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure
    Joe Aribo
    Samson Tijani
    Ola Aina
    Tyrone Ebuehi
    Ola Aina
    Semi Ajayi
    Leon Balogun
    William Troost-Ekong
    Kevin Akpoguma
    Zaidu Sanusi
    Jamilu Collins
    Daniel Akpeyi
    Dele Alampasu
    Ramon Azeez
    Kingsley Ehizibue
    Cyriel Dessers
    Shehu Abdullahi
    Tobias Okiki Lawal

All called up in 2020 are not Igbo though.
