Senegal and Democratic Republic of Congo battled to a thrilling 1-1 draw at the Grande Stade de. Tanger on Saturday.
The two sides were desperate to secure an early passage to the Round of 16 after starting the competition with wins over Botswana and Benin Republic respectively.
Senegal were in ascendancy in the first half but failed to make their dominance count.
DR Congo stunned the former champions one minute after the hour mark with Cédric Bakambu firing past Édouard Mendy.

Théo Bongonda’s initial effort was parried by Mendy, and Bakambu reacted quickest to put the ball into the net.
Sadiq Mane equalised for Senegal seven minutes later.
Senegal remain on top of Group D with four points, same as DR Congo, who have an inferior goal difference.
The Terangha Lions will face Benin Republic in their last group game, while DR Congo will be up against Botswana.
