Thomas Partey of Arsenal is a very good player, Eagles and the coaches should plan how to hold or contain him at both games. Thanks

    • Coach Eguavoen/Amunike combo should better arrange how to hold Thomas Partey (the Ghana captain & midfielder) as his man of the match performance for Arsenal today shows he is on fire right now. A word is enough for the wise.

Ghana black star coach and players should know how to hold Simon Moses if they don’t want to get dribbled

While at Lille he scored against Chelsea and Valencia in the champions league. These are big teams in the biggest club competition if you ask me.

Some people only choose to see success from a negative perspective, so I advice you ignore them.

Give osimheh the right pass he will finish up.

  • Gritty 2 years ago

Taking about giving Osimhen the right pass, how do we get the ball crossed into the Ghana 18yd ferociously for Osiy to prey on? The dude is more clinical in the air….Lolz.

How do we win the Midfield battle, wrestling it from the inform Thomas Partey of Arsenal?

How do we launch quick counters from the Midfield (we have a very pacy striker)?

How do we make our Midfielders become very watchful and smart at releasing the ball in the air from deep for Osiy or wingers to run in?????

How do we make our wingers to play both from the Midfield and wings?

How do we make our wingers to release fine crosses into Ghana’ 18yd for Osigoal or Dennis?

Note: Aerial tactics is strictly for Osimhen or Dennis or Onuachu. Or Iheanacho (assist striker preferably).

Ighalo is proficient on land. Lolzzz!

    Goodluck SE!!!

Time to tell ourselves the truth, once again.
Truth may not be pleasant to the ears, but failure to accept it is foolish and can lead to calamity.
Looking at a few of the comments here, I’m glad that people are aware of the threat that Ghana possesses.
Especially regarding the gentleman we all know as THOMAS PARTEY.
Agreed, Nigeria has the stronger squad at the moment.
However, Ghana do have a few players that can hurt us, and swing the tie in their favour.
The biggest threat to Nigeria at the moment is none other than Arsenal’s Thomas Partey.
Partey has been in fine form recently, but his game today against Leicester should have Eguavoen and his assistants on red alert.
Apart from his immense defensive and midfield contributions, which will be valuable to Ghana against us, Partey is also not goal shy. He can step up and nick a goal or more, if the opportunities present themselves.
He could easily have scored a hattrick today against Leicester.
He’s a freekick specialist, he can shoot and score from distance, he is deadly in a corner-kick situation, as we saw today against Leicester. In short, Partey is a midfielder with an eye for goal.
My fear is, although Nigeria has a fearsome attack, if matchday comes around, and the forwards forget their scoring boots at the hotel, then Ghana will sit back as they usually do, soak up our pressure, and wait for the goal that will give them the world cup ticket.
AND PARTEY IS VERY CAPABLE OF DELIVERING THAT GOAL.
Especially with our goalkeeping situation, the Partey threat takes on a greater urgency.
The last thing we want is for us to be chasing an equalizer in the dying minutes. Situations like this usually do not end well for us. And Partey can put us in this mess, if we let him!
The way out is for Nigeria to ruthlessly, consistently convert goal scoring opportunities.
Partey is an accomplished box to box midfielder. It will be difficult to “mark” him. We can try to minimize his influence, but he will still impose himself in the midfield.
However, if we convert the chances that come our way, Partey can only do so much. But if we don’t, then it could be PARTEY TIME.
Of course, there are others. Ghana has other players that can hurt us.
But Partey for me is the biggest threat to Nigeria’s world cup aspirations.

@pompei Pattey had been a fantastic midfielder right from his days at Athletico. He made them very strong at the midfield. He’s now at the level he was before leaving as he had to blend with the premiership pattern of play. Meanwhile our own Ndidi have refused to improve in the area of outside shot, ball movement, accurate long pass, ball distribution. Thomas has got all this. Though Ndidi is the best tackler and his ball recovery rate is second to none and breaking up opponent attacks but he need more than that to become the best in his position.
