Serie A: Osimhen Helps Napoli Beat Empoli , Extend Winning Streak

Victor Osimhen failed to add to his goal tally, but Napoli defeated Empoli 2-0 to make it 10th straight win in Serie A.

Osimhen previously scored in Napoli’s last four Serie A games but missed out on extending the run.

The 23-year-old also failed to equal Arkadiusz Milik’s record.

The Poland international was the last Napoli player to have found the net in five consecutive matches.

Hirving Lozano put Luciano Spalletti’s side from the spot on 69th minute after Osimhen was fouled inside the box.

Lozano set up for Piotr Zielinski for the second goal two minutes from time.

Osimhen was replaced by Giovanni Simeone on the dot of 90 minutes.

His international teammate, Tyrone Ebuehi was an unused substitute for Empoli in the game.

Osimhen why can’t you play the penalty or your confidence is low for penalty taking ni? You suppose have 9 goals today now

Funny enough he has gifted 2 penalties to his teammates this season after he lost the Pk against Liverpool on match day 1 of the Champions league.

I think he’s being smart bcos if he had stepped up to take the penalty and misses, it’s going to affect his confidence going forward.

Since he is not so sure of his pk abilities at the moment, i guess he did the right thing for the interest of the team.

He once again proved that he’s a team player who don’t just think of himself. Goals will definitely flows in for him and with this kind gesture, Lozano will be a little generous and give him more passes. He did that with Kvaratskhelia and the guy has returned the favor with couple of assist

In as much as I’d love him take the penalties to increase his goals, i think he took the right decision gifting it to Lozano. He will have another chance to take penalties at the right time when they’re comfortably leading in matches then if he misses, it won’t be costly

Osimhen confidence is low but he should have taken the penalty, to boost his chances of winning the highest goalscorer, he could have missed it but that doesnt mean lozano wont miss also. Infact the keeper almost saved it
