  • Definitely we can’t continue to ignore simy . He is top quality

    • kenneth 3 years ago

Will they allow him, with all the noise tht we need players playing in the top 5 league, so where is simy playing? he has banged in 15 goals so far. We know the politics going on

      • Abdul 3 years ago

We can sometimes try to see beyond what is being talked about by just opening discussions on our heads. Is Simy a good striker? Yes. Can he play for Nigeria? Yes, of course. But is Nigeria national team currently having goal-scoring problem? Absolutely no. Osihmen, the first choice striker for the team is the joint-top scorer of the recently concluded Afcon qualifier, indicating that the department was well taken care of. This team also has other quality strikers in Onuachu and Kelechi. However, Simy has got the quality to play for the current super eagles, but everyone cannot be in the team. So, in the future if there are needs to bring in new striker, Simy would be an option like always. This happens with every big soccer country like Nigeria and its not about Rohr. Just my opinion though.

        • Omo9ja 3 years ago

@Abdul, Oga Rohr should be the one to blame for that.

How many minutes and how many games did Simy have played under coach Rohr?

          Not to talk of Dessers?

Onyekuru will return to his base, on the bench as soon as Simon and the injured players are fully fit and ready for the national team.

I’m still asking this question from Oga Rohr and his followers, what did Dessers do to Oga Rohr?

Did they force Dessers on Oga Rohr?

That Dessers didn’t play up to 45 minutes and he proved his worth to the gaffer.

And the gaffer says his working freely without NFF intervention?

          How true would that be?

If it is true that he is the one making the decision based on the selections of the team, then, he is not doing very good on that.

Don’t tell me that all of our best players have no right to be in that squad.

I don’t know to be honest with you.

The quality of Oga Rohr as a coach is not up to the standard of the Super Eagles.

This is why such a thing is happening in the team.

Anyways, as long as he’s winning matches and trophies for us, I have no problem with him but doing below this won’t be acceptable.

It is well. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

@Omonaija, i understand you are not a keen fan of Rohr, but i will urge you to take that aside and lets just reason as a passionate Nigerian that wants to see the team excel in all ramifications. Firstly, don’t forget Simy was invited to the 2018 world cup camp and he made the final list to the tournament. This simply means that no one has seen Simy in the national team colour than Rohr and his crew. At least, If he is so hated as you thought, he wouldn’t have made that list in the first place or even play at the mundial. The fact remains that coaches always have preferences, and i would just say Simy couldn’t convince Rohr that he’s good enough to stay in the national team. This happens everywhere in the world. I mean, Arteta was considered one of the top English midfielders during his playing days but he wasnt considered good enough for Spain national team. From my own point of view, i will call for Rohr’s head over ignoring a player like Simy when the team fail to produce goals, and that is not the case now.

And you rants also about Dessers and Onyekuru. Well, i also like the fact that Dessers showed a huge passion to be part of the Nigeria national team, but we are a big footballing country and anybody in the team would need to show more consistency. Please, don’t attach this to Musa’s invitation, because that man has payed his dues and bringing him to camp for those dead-rubber games can just be overlooked.
On Onyekuru, in my opinion, the best of him in the national team came in these last two games, and you will see he will get more invitation for the upcoming world cup qualifiers. I wouldn’t like to compare, but Simon Moses was Nantes best player last season, in the same league Onyekuru didn’t kick a ball for months. Well, all of these points are just my opinion though, and they don’t have to agree with yours.

How many forward does a team need?

    • JimmyBall 3 years ago

When you are still having some so called pad-pressing computer game football analyst still reserving squad slots for their non-playing captain… it’s from our coach I see where oyiboman lie and still no apologize. We did not know he has become player marketing agent also…

      • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

Hahahaha…..exfootballer that cannot name simple starting XI. Pls help us to create another formation that will accommodate 7 CFs at the same time….LMAO. Sometimes I just wonder if you just talk for talking sake….LMAO.
The same loudmouths who want Awoniyi in the SE, want Moffi in the SE, want Kayode in the SE, want Dessers in the SE, want Maja in the SE, want Sadiq in the SE, Want Iyayi in the SE, want Olayinka in the SE, want Kayode in the SE, want Simy in the SE…..LMAO….the same SE where we already have Osimhen, Nacho, Onuachu…..LMAO.
They should pls help us create a formation that will accommodate them all at the same time. At least they have succeeded in placing Olayinka at left wing back, maybe Moffi will be in defensive midfield and Simy will be a box to box goalkeeper…..LMAO.
We can see who really are the video game addicts here…..lMAO

        • JimmyBall 3 years ago

@Dr.Drey… I have a new formation that is 1-9-1 fit Onuachu whom you said always collapses the entire attack whenever he gets introduced into Super Eagles game… When we attack he will be the only striker and when we defend he will be the only central defender… since you want him both in defence and attack at the same time… Lol. If for nothing, I like the way Onuachu fed @Dr.Drey so much agidi in our last two games… My guy been no wan comment after Onuachu scored back to back… but was forced to come and day that onuacha is now adapting his game better… I thought he was useless and derseved no more than standby list? We are creating a third list of “Training Jersey Drycleaners” now… Our super nonplaying captain with be the first feature on that… hahahaha. Commandant of goalpost shifters…

          • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

Hahahaha…..The fear of Sadiq and a permanent place on SE standby list gave onuachu brain….LMAO. According to Rohr “Onuachu scored for himself”…to save his SE career since his 50goals in Belgium cannot….LMAO. From being a completely useless player he even gathered enough momentum and to knock off both the ball and Troost Ekong Vs Benin……LMAO. The boy see say na die in dey…..LMAO. He for no score….he for still dey wait for finidi to come out of retirement to become useful…..LMAO. The boy realised that this super star called Sadiq will kick him out of the SE and quickly adjusted his game to suit the style that has produced 3 consecutive top scorersand started scoring……LMAO. He was raising shoulder before expecting us to even change the colour of the Nigerian flag before he can even trap ball successfully….LMAO

That is how we will be getting useless players to buckle up – a place on the standby list and the invitation of a direct rival….LMAO.

Osimhen and Onuachu started their SE same time….. Onuachu went into AFCON a 1st choice striker and Osimhen as 3rd choice. Today Osimhen is undisputable No 1 CF, Onuachu is still struggling to nail down no 2 position…..LMAO. Ma guy see Sadiq for him back give himself brain…..LMAO.

          • @Jimmyball,if Onuachu didn’t change his style of play especially urgency he wouldn’t have scored in any of the two matches. You don’t have to comment every time.

        • JimmyBall 3 years ago

… Hahahaha. As Onuachu vex attack ball wey Ekong throway for ground almost shout for him mama for help… now una go relax leave the guy breathe now… hahaha. God punish devil… We Wan score Ekong come stand block goal route… the stars wey brother Ekong see that minute for ground ehn… hahaha, e remain small referee for wiggle two fingers for him face ask am how many fingers be that if brother Ekong still dey alright like boxing referee the ask after dizziness from knockout punch… I think una say make we score goals anyhow… Lol.

I was wrong about Simy. He is scoring in top 5 league, serie a being number 4 in uefa rankings. He currently has 15 goals scored in serie a and also second in goals scored in the month of March with 6 goals, 1 behind Lewandowski. He is literally carrying his team on his back and they are in the bottom of relegation zone. The team has bad defense. The team has 2 clean sheets. I remember seeing here about crotone chief Vrenna that Simy was not for sale because Lazio and Udinese was interested in him. He scored 20 goals for promotion, no doubt he will score more than that before the season ends. His contract ends in 2022, he should run away.

  • daniel 3 years ago

Igbo, Hausa, yoroba racist don kill Nigeria. I watch the match, Simy is hustling striker but our coaches need to give him time to perform like they did to Onuachi, Simy is a experience striker.

    • Onuachu is igbo se as simmy, abeg where is the tribal sentiment coming from. It hurts me when I see young people thinking like u.
      I feel sorry for u

  • Lloyd 3 years ago

I feel Simy Nwankwo was not given much chance before Rohr displaced him.

Pre-World Cup, he gave a good account of himself in Calabar and hit the bar that day. He was so close to scoring on his debut but then Rohr and Ighalo were in a romance that we never understood. During World Cup, we’ll need a Striker up front and Rohr will not bring him in until 2 mins to end of the game. How on Earth does he want him to do magic???

Right now, I feel it’s just so unfair not to call up Simy who now has 15 Goals in Serie A only.

Come to think of it, our No. 9 Oshimen plays in same league and can’t account for that number of goals at the moment.

  • MuYiwa 3 years ago

@Lloyd, but that same no 9 always scores whenever he plays for the SE and he’s the highest goal scorer in the qualifying series. What do you ppl really want?

  • 15 goals in a league that has the reputation of having the best defense, yet the clueless coach said ighalo should come back. A certain musa was invited and he lied he wasnt going to play him.I even read a report of him saying he won’t invite new players for world cup qualifer.how do you encourage competition.if he was wise enough he will know the team needs creativity in the midfield. Let him keep basking in euphoria of beating Lesotho and Benin that came to defend for 90mins.Stronger teams they come

  • Hmmm.
    @Dr Drey….

It’s only in Nigeria our aficionados want us to play “monkey post” during qualifiers where every department can be occupied by strikers alone….

This is their new formation(the pple that play to the highest level… Ndi invite… Ndi mechanic…. Ndi Belmadi Boy… Ndi PE TEACHER)

    SIMY(GK)

    OLAYINKA-ONUACHU-DESSERS-AJAYI JUNIOR

    AWONIYI-SODIQ

    OSIMHEN-NACHO-KAYODE

    MOFFI.

REMEMBER; these are pple that have played WC, UCL, EPL, LALIGA, SERIE A, LIG 1, BUNDESLIGA & any other “highest level” of soccer u may think of…. It could be they’ve played soccer in JUPITER who knows…

We’re watching them how they’re using their mouth to unfold their ignorance….

How on earth must u expect a coach to invite 8 or 9 CF(No.9) the same time?…. (OSIMHEN, ONUACHU, SODIQ, MAJA, DESSERS, MOFFI, AWONIYI, SIMY, NACHO)

After u want us to take u and your comment serious….
    NEVER….

Comment reasonably without hatred, envy, selfishnes or even sentiment and i’ll be your no.1 fan.

    Anyway;

    :::SHALOM:::

  • Im happy Osimhen is back scoring goals for his club and that his coach is starting him in games. I hope he can score at least 10 goals or more before the end of the season to ease some of the pressure on him.
As for simy, I do believe his is a good striker and that he would be a good addition to the Super Eagles team, but for now there are alot of strikers in the team, good ones for that matter, and Many more are waiting for a chance to play as well.
Its unfortunate that he wasn’t given enough time to settle in the team when he was initially called up. But that doesn’t mean there was a conspiracy against him. Coach rohr already has the players he likes and can depend on so for someone to break into the team will require an extraordinary performance from that person.
Simy may still get his chance, he is scoring goals regularly in a very strong and difficult league, and that can’t be ignored for very long.
