England defender Luke Shaw has expressed disappointment following Brighton & Hove Albion’s 1-0 Premier League victory over Manchester United on Thursday, May 4 at the Falmer Stadium.
Argentine World Cup hero Alexis Mac Allister got the win for Brighton by blasting a penalty kick into the net in the 99th minute.
Shaw told MUTV he was displeased to have given the penalty away.
“They’re a brilliant team,” Shaw said
“But I think if we look at the big chances we created in the first half, I think the game should be more comfortable and if we score goals then it makes life easier.
“I think like I said it’s not just today. It’s been in many of our games this season. But yeah there’s obviously no excuses. I was the one that obviously made the mistake at the end. So I take it on the chin and I know I’m disappointed.”
Shaw has racked up one goal and two assists in 27 Premier League games this season.
United are fourth on the Premier League table with 63 points garnered from 33 matches.
Up next for the Red Devils is a match with West Ham on Sunday, May 7 at the London Stadium.
