Silva Brands Iwobi, Teammates Not Good Enough After Everton Defeat

Underfire manager Marco Silva slammed Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi and his Everton teammates, branding them not good enough after their loss to rivals Liverpool on Wednesday night.

More pressure was placed on Silva following Liverpool’s 5-2 win at Anfield which saw Everton drop into the relegation zone.

Wednesday night’s loss means the Toffees have now lost eight of their last 11 games.

“We cannot concede goals in the way we conceded. The way we conceded was not good enough, we should be more brave,” Silva said after the game.

“Last season we had the fourth best defence in the Premier League, but tonight (Wednesday) it was not good enough. Just not good enough.

“It is really tough for us to be in the relegation zone but if you are there you are making the same mistakes. I’m not here to talk about the fight of the players, our opponent was more brave than us. We should do better, of course, we were not good enough.

“We are making some mistakes which put us under big, big pressure. The type of mistakes we are making is because the players are playing under big pressure because of the position in the table.

“They are making some mistakes that are not normal for the level we are.”

  • Perhaps Marco Silva as well has something against Iwobi.

I do wish Everton well. I think they have the calibre of players that should ensure that they are flying high in the league.

This coach has to take personal responsibility for where the club are at the moment.

Under another coach, I bet Iwobi and others will thrive.

As for Liverpool, they are on another planet entirely! Origi really shocked me and Sadio Mane has qualities missing in some of our players.

Whether anyone “has something against” Sadio Mane or not, his skills attributes and consistent high level performances are entirely undeniable!

    Enough said o!

Failures everyday praying for Alexander the king Iwobi to fail but happily he keeps rising. Who pass God? Lol.. nobody. God bless Iwobi. Marco Silver blamed team n not Iwobi n primary 3 witches / wizards with sick bard heads quick to point hand at Iwobi that created chances for other players to score while they couldn’t. Marco Silver,it is become very obvious to every honest analyst, don’t even know what he is doing, no team structure, no defence, no good defensive midfield, constant team change etc. Only failures like him will keep thinking Iwobi or even the other players are the problem. Iwobi according to them was the problem of Arsenal, now arsenal are topping the league since he left. Lol . Olodo…

  • Abegii. which iwobi? dont even try to convince anybody here. everton sign iwobi because they need pace and dribbles in the wide areas. but since he left arsenal he also dump all his attributes, such as direct style of play, pace. nutmeg, stepover, elastico, roulette. now iwobi is left with just shot passing. iwobi is now an under average player. kele is far better than him. maybe iwo should barb his hair.
