I have a lot to learn from both the coach, who is a great coach, and my teammates, and I appreciate all the people I have met,” Simon told FC Nantes official website during his formal unveiling on Friday.

“Yes, he [the coach] told me it was a good club, that the people were welcoming and friendly, he also told me about the atmosphere and the fans who are fantastic.”

“My goal is to do the best, to work well with the team and to work for others.”

On his new FC Nantes teammates’ help in his settling in at the club, Simon said: “Yes, they help me a lot everyday.”

Meanwhile Nantes head coach Christian Gourcuff is expecting big things from Simon and eulogises his outstanding qualities, believing he will make a big impact at the club.

“He is a very exciting player, good in transition movement, plays for the team more than for himself, he is a player who has a lot of energy, he loves to put himself in physical duels due to his strength and some experience, he is good for our formation,” Gourcuff told Nantes’ official website.
