Simon Named In Nantes’ Best X1 Of The Decade

Nigeria winger Moses Simon has been listed in the Nante’s best X1 of the decade by fans of the club, reports Completesports.com.

More than 5,000 fans took part in the voting process.

Simon linked up with Nantes on a one-year   loan deal from LaLiga club Levante last summer.

The deal was made permanent last week with the pacy winger penning a four-year contract with the Canaries.

The 24-year-old scored nine goals and recorded eight assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for the club last season.

Simon was also voted the club’s player of the year.

Ligue 1 clubs Olympic Lyon and Stade Rennes have been linked with the winger but Nantes Deputy Director General Franck Kita stated last week that the player is not for sale.

“With regard to Moses Simon, we have just exercised his purchase option and we are delighted to see him again with us.He is also very happy to be joining our ranks. We will talk about his departure a little later but not this year,”Kita told the club’s official website.

Glad to know that things are working right for you. Keep up the good work, Simon.

Wow! Aside from his impressive displays, his goals and assists haul makes a statement of his immense contribution to the team and this is exactly what most Nigerian footballers needs. Yes dribbling and creating chances is quite entertaining, but goals and assists are what makes the difference and awards for the best players these days are mainly based on goals and assists contributions with the exception of goal keepers and to an extent defenders.

I pray and hope his purple patch continues

Wow! With just one season @Nantes??

Is it that we are not seeing what they are seeing in Simon?? Simon prior to the World cup was like the next big thing then the Injury came and @AFCON, He wasn’t that impressive. Glad to see things are changing for him now. Hope he brings same form to Super Eagles when we re-converge

  • Now, this is pleasantly surprising. I knew Simon was good but these amazing statistics is shifting my perspective of him and going to force me to start watching more of his club football games. I had my favourite SE players and if they were not in startup, my confidence begins to stagger. Top among them was Victor Moses and Ahmed Musa. I cared about Simon Moses but not so much if he didn’t make the matchday squad. Now I may be missing something and Rohr should start deploying the man in the right position to maximise his potentials for country as his club coach does.
