Defender Pape Souare has been linked with a move to Championship club Middlesbrough during the summer transfer window. The 29-year-old had been on the Eagles’ books since 2014 but has now fallen out of contract after making just eight appearances in all competitions during the past two seasons following a car accident in September 2016.

However, rumours persist that Palace are in negotiations about offering him another deal at Selhurst Park in the hope he can rediscover the form that saw him enjoy 34 Premier League outings in the 2015-2016 campaign.
A report by Football Insider suggests new Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate has his eyes on the Senegal international left-back, who played for Lille and on loan at Reims before moving to south London. It remains to be seen if a deal can be down at Palace but a move away might suit all parties concerned, with Boro able to offer the stopper more game time than he would see under Roy Hodgson.
